Promote Your Business Through Branded Magnets
by Matt Franks, Mat

It cannot be stressed enough how important it is that you promote your business through branded magnets. This is literally one of the most effective methods of marketing your business in todays hectic world. This is because branded magnets are magnets that are customised for your business. They can be your business logo with your information on them so people can contact you or they can be a simple magnet with contact information.

However, you want branded magnets that really stand out from all of the other promotional magnets hanging out on a customer's refrigerator or office file cabinet. The reason why you want it to stand out is because a customer is more likely to call the business with the magnet that says, “I am the company to do business with.” If it doesn't say that, then they're going to call the company who has taken the time and effort to acquire a magnet that says they really want the business.

Customising your branded magnets

You have to take a look at your business and see what it is people want. Ask your employees what they think customers would respond to the best. Would they respond to bright colours? Would they respond to a magnet that is of a unique shape? What do your employees think?

Once you determine what would make the best magnet for your company, you then talk to a company that makes branded magnets. They'll pretty much do what you want and cut a deal with you in which you can buy them in bulk. Buying in bulk means a cheaper price. A cheaper price means that you can buy more branded magnets and distribute them to more people. By distributing them to more people, you are expanding your exposure. You have to remember that each person that is exposed to your business directly or indirectly becomes a potential customer. It may take them a year to make a purchase from you, but they are a potential customer no matter what.

In promotion

Think of it this way: A boss of a large corporation has your branded magnets on various file cabinets throughout the building. This corporation has 500 employees and these 500 employees are exposed to these magnets at some point during the day. In the course of the day, 50 of those employees notice your magnets. Ten of those employees realise that there is something you have that they need. So they jot down your number and your address so that they can contact you about what it is they need.

Now that is the idea behind branded magnets. The promotional aspect of it is overwhelming because magnets can seem so insignificant. Fortunately, they are not really insignificant at all. They can be more effective than most forms of advertising. If you have an ad on the 6th page of the local newspaper, but you send employees out to distribute 500 branded magnets on the street or to area businesses, you're going to get more exposure from the magnets.
