Why Isnt Your Network Marketing Business Thriving?
by Rae Mcgaughey, Rae

Maybe you're new to the network marketing industry. Maybe you've been in this business a while now and you are struggling with getting people to join your business. I'm sure when you first started your home-based business you were so excited about the opportunity that was presented, and you thought the products were fantastic, and you couldn't wait to tell everyone all about it. After all, why would anyone in their right minds pass up this opportunity, right?

Well, as you soon found out, most of your friends and family certainly didn't share the same enthusiasm that you had about your newfound potential money-making opportunity. In fact, a lot of them thought you were nuts for joining one of “those” things (as if it were some kind of cult or something). You made lists of dozens, if not hundreds, of people – of everyone that you knew or had ever come in contact with in your life, and you called all of them. You set up meetings, lunches, took them to your weekly or monthly meetings, or asked them to have parties in their homes so you could introduce your opportunity and products to them…only to find that they just didn't want to do what you were doing.

After a while you had spent so much money on promoting your business that you were thousands of dollars in the hole, credit cards maxed out, and you still had no business builders joining you on your journey to the top. You were a team of one. Yet, you didn't really want to give up because of all the time and money you had invested, and because all of the skeptics out there were just waiting to say those dreaded words “I told you so.” There had to be something to this industry, right? There just had to be a way to make money, didn't there? After all, there were quite a few people that had made it to the top of the chain and were living quite comfortably with a 6-figure monthly income. They all said, “If I can do it, you can do it.”

It's no wonder that over 95% of network marketers fail in their businesses.

So what do you really have to do to be successful in network marketing?

Building a very successful network marketing business, no matter what you are marketing, requires a proper skillset and proper knowledge. It's not just about building relationships with people (as most of us were taught). You could be the nicest person on Earth, but without the training and knowledge that you need to move forward, you will not be able to build a strong foundation for your business. You need to be able to master the art of marketing using the phone, the internet, as well as the written word.

I made quite a bit of money for my upline by simply being a great salesperson, not only selling great products, but buying a bunch of them myself and stocking up so I could have a supply on hand, but I was never taught the proper skills to become a true leader in my business. I have since gotten the training and expertise I needed, and gained the knowledge to truly build a successful business and to truly prosper in what I originally set out to do in my network marketing business – which is helping people get what they truly need, or want, or desire, and showing people how they can earn money in a home based business, and actually be able to work from home. After all, isn't that the way it should be?
