Use Promotional Pens To Spread The Word
by Gareth Parkin, Gar
Look around your home or office and you'll be surprised at the number of promotional pens you have in your possession ? almost without even realizing it! You can never have enough pens at home, because they don't stay where you put them. Whenever you're looking for a pen or pencil, there's never one to be found. Or if you do, it's run out of ink. Keep a stash of pens in a drawer to make sure you can always find one when you need one. When you open that drawer, you will be confronted with a number of promotional pens from various companies ? they've been given to you as free handouts, and they're always welcome gifts.
Companies use promotional pens as a means of advertising their company or product, or perhaps even a special event that they are involved in. As an advertising tool, they are incredibly valuable. Companies don't have to spend a fortune on them, although it's always a good idea to have promotional pens that are of a fairly good quality. You don't want your company to be associated with a really cheap product, because that's how your customers will see your company image. When selecting promotional items to advertise your company, always go for the best quality your advertising budget will allow. Pens are a favorite with companies who do use promotional items as an advertising tool, because they are not expensive and are always useful. You can always give them out to your customers, or potential customers, and know that they won't be thrown away ? until they stop working (or get lost).
Because they have this intrinsic ?useful? value, you will know that your company name will be exposed to your customers all the time. Particularly if you give them to customers to use in their offices, your company name and telephone number are right at their fingertips. Don't be concerned that you are giving away too many promotional pens either ? pens have an amazing ability to grow legs and walk. Staff are always going to the stationery cupboard to get a new pen, even though they've had one on their desk all morning ? all of a sudden, it has disappeared!
Promotional pens are also a good way to promote a new product or service which your company may be introducing. Pens can form an accessory to a major advertising campaign, where your new product is exposed to the public in many other ways. Just seeing the name of the product on a pen will subconsciously remind your client of all the other advertising you've done, perhaps TV or news media advertising, and the name of the product will stick. When they need to buy that product, it's really easy for them to remember your company because your promotional pens are all over the office! Spread the word and get your company name to be the first one that your client thinks of when he needs it.
