Subliminal Hypnosis
by Yournetguru2, You
Subliminal hypnosis is a state of awareness and sensitive response. Being part of the art of hypnosis, it can be induced by many ways in a person, but it is hardly used in the medical field, per se. The state of subliminal hypnosis is generally brought about by a machinist and not by a doctor or medical practitioner.

How Is it induced?

Generally, when a machinist wishes to induce the state of subliminal hypnosis, he or she uses a variety of vocal commands, although many other means of hypnosis have also been used on records. During the procedure, the hypnotist engages the concentration of the subject, and follows it up by the aforementioned vocal commands, assigning several tasks to the subject such as muscle relaxation, levitation of limbs etc. By trained hypnotists, subliminal hypnosis has been known to be self induced for recreation, spiritualistic realization or in idealistic systems.

Subliminal hypnosis is similar to sleep and has several notable aspects relating to psychology, only different in the heightened sensibilities and response systems in the phase. A high degree or receptivity to inner functions of the body is accorded during this phase, something that is generally reserved to external realities and perception. A subject under subliminal hypnosis only realizes those bits of reality pointed out to him by the hypnotist. A heightened sense of perception of these realities, with nearly complete ignorance of anything and everything else is one of the highlights of subliminal hypnosis. The senses of the subject work according to the suggestions of the hypnotist and do not respond to the normal stimuli that affect general human perception.

The Importance of Subliminal Hypnosis

Despite a few controversies, subliminal hypnosis does have sporadic usage in anesthesia, after it was formally certified as a therapeutic method worldwide. It reduces the need of anesthetic drugs during medical procedures. It is of special mention during complex and painful procedures of childbirth where the methods of subliminal hypnosis allow for decreasing the pain of the mother by diverting her consciousness to other realities, and inducing a state of anesthesia. Subliminal hypnosis has been considered effective in the stubborn management of pain, even in deadly cancerous situations. In dentistry, it has been used as an effective measure against the fear of pain. Subliminal hypnosis has also been used to avert major psychological disorders by early detection and treatment.

Though there have been various uses for subliminal hypnosis, the potential threats and the records of mis-happenings around the world have resulted in several countries banning public viewings and commercial exhibition of the procedure hence earning it a bad name.
