by Julia Hanf, Jul
Diabetes can be acquired from another Person: One has diabetes because his or her body could not produce insulin, and not because he or she acquired it from another person with it.

Fruit is Healthy and can be Eaten in any Quantity: Fruits contain fiber, vitamins, and minerals which are healthy for a person. Fruit also contains carbohydrates which convert almost instantly into sugar, so fruit should be eaten in moderation.

Diabetics are not allowed to eat foods rich in Carbohydrates: As opposed to what many people believe that foods rich in carbohydrates such as potatoes, bread and pasta are bad for diabetic patients, these foods are actually good. It only boils down to taking things moderately.

Insulin can make a person fat: While it is true that insulin is a weight gain process, one can avoid gaining weight by practicing regular exercise and a healthy and balanced diet.

Diabetes only develops in adults: Anybody can have diabetes. Because diabetes may also be acquired by the type of lifestyle a person lives, even children may have this. Some of the factors that may cause diabetes to develop are foods and low level of mobility and these are present in kids as well. Many children nowadays are very much hooked up into playing video games and using computers and these activities do not require much mobility. Moreover, exposure to many unhealthy foods may also contribute to the development of diabetes in children.
