Ideal Business Gifts
by Gareth Parkin, Gar
Choosing ideal business gifts to give to your clients or customers can be difficult. Knowing exactly what to give is never easy, even under the best of circumstances, and infinitely more difficult when your gift is supposed to be a representation of you and your company. Therefore you should always put a great deal of thought into choosing an ideal business gift; although don't over think it to the point where you end up driving yourself crazy. Just try to think of something appropriate for both the type of business you are in and the type of client you are going to be giving your business gifts to. It is this type of careful consideration that separates the good business gifts from the great business gifts.
Naturally because this is a business gift an ideal business gifts should somehow reflect the industry that you are in. For instance, if you are a wine maker then the obvious business gift would be a bottle of your finest wine (to an important client). If your best line is quite expensive you obviously will not want to be using this as a business gift for all of your clients. Instead for some of your smaller clients, who while important don't contribute as much business as a larger clients, you may want to consider giving them a set of nice wineglasses. Giving them a cheaper bottle of your wine as business gift would not be ideal because they would know that this is not your best bottle and might even look at it as a snub, so giving them wine glasses avoids this potential problem while maintaining the link to your wine industry.
Product samples are also an obvious choice for an ideal business gift. This is especially true if you are hosting an event that your headquarters or hosting a larger event at a convention hall. Commonly you will see businesses put together gift bags full of product samples and complementary products to give away as business gifts. This can snowball into something that is quite expensive however so you will want to keep a close watch on the bottom-line to make sure that expenses do not get out of control. Another possibility for an ideal business gift is to actually host a dinner or get together that revolves around the launch of a new product or service. This can be a very affordable option for the smaller business that wants to impress local critics and even distributors that they will be working with.
In the end creating the ideal business gift is all about showing a little bit of imagination and working within the confines of your market segment. Knowing your intended audience is the perfect place to start when deciding on an ideal business gift, and really thinking about what will help sell your product and make the gift recipients happy is the next logical step. It does not have to be difficult to come up with an ideal business gift, and when you do come up with a perfect one your clients are sure to notice and appreciate it.
