PricewaterhouseCoopers distinguished association with the Academy Awards for the 74th consecutive time. It was publicly announced that Rick Rosas and Brad Oltmanns are the two people who will lead the process of balloting for the 80th Annual Academy Awards. These are the people who will be familiar with the identity of Oscar? winners which will be telecasted live on ABC at 5 pm on Sunday, 24th February, 2008.
"PricewaterhouseCoopers ensures complete confidentiality and security in our voting process by counting every single ballot by hand," as told by Sid Ganis, president, Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.The engagement of icewaterhouseCoopers with the Academy has provided a great honor for the company. For the last 74 years the ballots were being counted by 12 partners. Rosas and Oltmanns, the two partners of PricewaterhouseCoopers in Los Angeles are guided by a few accountants who work on the project for quite a few days.
Brad Oltmanns said, "Our approach has always been 100 percent effective in preserving these cherished secrets while delivering the accurate and reliable results for the Academy." It is his 4th year in the balloting role, but Oltmanns served the company for almost 28 years.As expressed by Rick Rosas, "We are very proud of being the Academy's ballot tabulator and in the fact there has never been a strong security breach during our 74-year relationship." Rosas served the company for the last 12 years and this is Rosas 7th year heading the balloting process of Academy.
As on 26th December, 2007, the ballots for nomination were mailed to around 6,000 ballot vote members. Mailing of final ballots will be done on 30th January, 2008 and final ballots are due by 19th February.
