The most essential point is that a blog should be focusing on a few clear topics. If the blog is about online business, at least seventy percents of the contents should be about online business. If the blog is written in this manner, there should be no need to care about keyword density since you will write with keyword density unconsciously. In my experience, it will be better to confine the focus of a blog to three to four topics. Going beyond that will make the blog too diverse.

Link Popularity

In fact, link popularity is important for all websites nowadays. Search engines like Google pays a lot of attentions to link popularity in order to determine the ranking of a website. In order to build inbound links, you may post articles in different forums and add the link of your website in the signature. If you are posting articles that are useful to the people who visit the forums, the webmaster should be more than happy to have your link in the signature. However, you have to bear in mind that some forums may have very strict rules to deal with external links. These forums will delete your article or even ban your ip address if you have links in your signature. Of course different forums will have different rules. As a result you have to read the rules of each individual forum and you should never spam the forums.

You may also leave messages in other blogs. Although most blog may have add the nofollow attribute automatically, you will still have a chance make your blog expose to more people and some others who are interested in your blog may add your link in their websites. Again, you should never try to spam other's blogs.
