The Death Of Offline MLM
by Lubano Lim, Lub
For this article, we will look at why we need to change the way offline MLM is being conducted through several questions and answers.

1)What is wrong with selling to friends, family and relatives?

In a traditional offline MLM company, what is the first thing you are told to do? Well, take out a piece of paper; write down a list of 100 people you know. It is said that an average person will know at least 100 people.

So the 100 people will include your friends, family, relatives, acquaintance, family doctor, grocery shop owners etc.

Well, what wrong with doing that? The main problem is that the people you are approaching are untargeted leads. Either they are not interested in MLM opportunities or they are downright skeptical about it. In fact, some of them may even give you negative comments that may cause you to lose your motivations. Don't you think it is easier to convert people who are already interested in MLM opportunities?

Sure, you might be able to get 1 or 2 people to join you but don't you think that is too much work? Remember, time is money!

2)What is wrong with recruiting friends, family and relatives?

As mentioned above, you probably know at least a hundred people but most likely, you will only be able to recruit one or two of them. What is the problem here?

Well, if you want to be successful in any MLM, you will definitely need more than one to two downlines. In fact, you will want to grow you organization to hundreds of people as soon as possible so that it becomes profitable. Furthermore, after recruiting your downlines, you will also need to keep them motivated so that they won't drop out.

Anyone that has been in the MLM industry for a number of years will know that retention is one of biggest problem in any MLM company. So how do you improve the retention rate?

The first step you can take is to recruit high quality people. In other words, people who are self motivated. It is generally easier to retain these people. However, it is less likely to get these kind of people if you are only targeted your own circle of people.

3)What is wrong with focus?

There is nothing wrong with being focused. In fact, regardless of what you are doing, you have to stay focused in order to succeed.

When you first get started in an offline MLM, most of the time, you are told to focus. In other words, stay in only one company. However, in today's world, this can be a very dangerous advice. Imagine you are now earning $10,000 of residual income from XYZ company.

One day, XYZ Company declares bankrupt. Overnight, you lose $10,000 worth of residual income. Isn't it better if you can be involved in several companies so that you can have multiple stream of residual income?

In the offline world, it is impossible for you to be involved in several companies at the same time and still be successful. However, this is very achievable in the online world because 90% of the task can be automated.
