Scrapbooking Your Vacation
by ,
Each day make notes of what you did. Ask family members for comments about their favourite things that happened each day.

Think in terms of photos, journaling and decorative elements which are the basics of any layout.

Any decorative elements that you collect during the holiday keep in the notebook. These can be any mementos that are collected in the places you visit.

Be sure to date every entry. As the years go by and you create more scrapbooks you will find having kept a note of dates to be really important.

Make a note of things people are saying at the time which will be good information for when you start jounaling. If children blurt out memorable things you'll be glad you captured it. These are the things that will be forgotten if they are not noted down at the time.

Include in your notes any doodles, sketches and pictures you have drawn and maybe include them in the scrapbook. They'll trigger memories and stories that u may want to use in your jounaling.

Visiting travel agents and auto clubs can be a fantastic source of scrapbook materials. You'll get a packet of maps and other information about your destination.

Try to take 2 or 3 photos of each shot so that if any do not turn out as expected you have spares. Then you can choose the best.

Photos of places are best with someone in them. Try to include a background of the place you want in the photo but include at least one person to add interest.

Be aware that if you write on photos this can break down and destroy the emulbsion on a photograph- the light-sensitive coating which is made up of fine silver bromide grains suspended in a gelatin. Instead use self-stick notes with an archival-safe pen. The notes you make will be very helpful when you start journaling.

Memorabilia and post cards are great for bringing back memories and fill in the spaces if some photos did not turn out as expected. Be sure to keep menus and anything that will help to re-create the atmosphere and feelings.

Chronological order for the photos and vacation are the choice of most people. You can see the whole event from setting off to returning home.
