What are some of the Most Common Lawn Care Problems?

Some people experience brown patches on their lawns and in fact this is quite a common problem that many people often come across. This type of problem is more likely to affect certain types of grass including:-

You may notice that the spots are quite small to start with, but they will rapidly start to spread all across the lawn if they are not treated. Another type of spot that commonly affects lawns is called the dollar spot and they are usually either brown or straw colored.

Another problem that people may not associate with lawns is rust and it is actually a big problem that can happen when there is:-

•A low fertility rate

In order to test if your lawn has rust, you can start by rubbing a tissue or a cloth against the grass and if you notice an orange mark then it more often than not means that your grass has rust. You will need to do some research in order to protect your grass from rust, but it is a problem that you can quite easily sort out.

Some people may have come across slime mold when they are caring for their lawns and this can be a nuisance as it covers most of the lawn and it can kill the plant cells. If there is any decaying matter on the lawn, the slime mold will feed off this and it will just continue to spread, causing more damage to your lawn.

You may have never heard or come across some of these problems, but it really is a good idea to understand them so that if you do come across them, you know what to do. By doing this you can really care for your grass and know what methods to try when problems to your lawn do arise. A lot of the problems start off harmless, but they can quickly progress into something worse. So if you do notice something then you should treat it immediately.
