Camping can be fun and the great thing is that there are a number of options open to you as to where you can go. There are hundreds of campgrounds that you can use; it is just a matter of taste as to which ones you actually go for. Some can be extremely crowded and so if you need your space you would be better off doing some through research to see which campgrounds are the most spacious. Do you have to rely upon public transport or can you drive quite a distance to the state park of your choice? Really you should be able to find one in your local area, but if not there should not be one too far away. Who is going with you on the camping trip? Is it set to be a romantic trip or is it more of a family outing? If you do have children with you then it would be a wise idea to look for a site which has plenty of children's activities. Some sites offer swimming, skate parks, biking and boating to name just a few activities. Obviously if you just want to relax then these will not be of interest to you and you would be better off finding a more secluded camp site.

Overall before you truly decide to go camping, you need to ensure that you can get to a campground that is suitable for your needs. Not all campgrounds will be the same and some will be more crowded with campers than others. So don't rush into anything and you should have a good, relaxing summer vacation.
