Below are some of the most-common offenders? unhealthy foods that are everywhere. Make a conscious effort to eliminate these toxic foods from your diet, and you'll never look back!

CHIPS (crisps) ? loaded with trans fats (the worst kind), salt, and chemical flavorings. Potentially harmful to the heart, the digestive system, and the skin.

PRE-PACKAGED PASTRIES ? at home, it is easy to make healthy pastries, but the store-bought varieties are usually loaded with processed sugar, unhealthy fats, and chemical additives. Potential effects include bloating and weight gain.

SUGAR-FREE PRODUCTS ? often touted as a ?healthy alternative,? most artificial sweeteners are considered potential neurotoxins. Giving things up is never fun, so rather than eliminating the toxic foods listed above, try to upgrade your taste buds to some of these more-healthy options.

APPLES ? great source for fiber and vitamin C.

RAW ALMONDS ? excellent food for fiber, riboflavin, magnesium, iron, calcium and vitamin E. For easier digestion, soak raw almonds in water overnight before eating (removes the tannins).

BROCCOLI ? contains calcium, potassium, folate, beta-carotene, and vitamin C.

BLUEBERRIES ? packed full of cancer-fighting anti-oxidants and phytonutrients.

BEANS ? contain muscle-friendly amino acids (proteins), dietary fiber, copper, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, and thiamin.

WHEAT GERM ? taken from the center of wheat seeds, this nutty powder is a concentrated source of thiamin, folate, magnesium, phosphorus, iron and zinc. Sprinkle over salads or blend it in a smoothie.
