Blind dates are just like any first date; only more frightening. When two people who have never met and know nothing or very little about each other go out for a date, then it is a blind date. This date could be fixed either by common friends or through a dating system. Blind dates are very common these days due to the internet. People meet online, chat and finally decide to meet.

Blind dates are recommended for people who are emotionally stable and are confident of handling any situation. People who are anxious personalities and cannot handle rejection and disappointment should not opt for them. Though many blind dates have ended terribly, there have also been many times when they have resulted in a second date, a friendship, a relationship and even marriage. Any first date is a step towards a possible second date. It is best to sit and talk and get to know the other person on a first date. Avoid going for a movie on your first date, as both of you will concentrate on the movie and not on each other.
