Ford Focus Recalls
by Gado Wager Wager, Gad
As I write this, it seems that the biggest concern the Ford Motor company has is not Ford Focus recalls based on mechanical failings or flaws but Ford Focus recalls or rejections, in particular, or Ford boycotting, in general based on"AGAIN, snore, enough already--Christians against Ford because they sell to homosexuals.
Imagine That!

Homosexuals are allowed to drive, and more, have homosexual publications (newspapers and the like) in which Ford ads are featured! But hold on. Before I get all pissed and vociferous about the right to choose religion, sex, sexuality, and purchase options and other inalienable rights, and before I get even more vocal about how Ford rocks the automotive world, yee-hah and all that, let’s get down to the more serious discussion of the most recent Ford Focus recalls.

FORD FOCUS RECALLS, 2002

Evidently, Ford Focus recalls are plentiful, according to Consumer Reports. The popular compact had garnered nine so called “safety recalls" and five defect investigations by 2002.
Among the Ford Focus recalls involving safety issues, the right and left rear wheels were “falling off," reports the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration (NHTSA), though a tongue-in-cheek account by a writer for consumeraffairs.com notes that only 203,000 of the year 2000 For Focus recalls were for the left rear wheel alone.

FORD FOCUS RECALLS, 2001

The 2001 recalls for the Ford Focus saw reason by way of faulty fuel pumps/fuel systems: on certain vehicles, it is reported, there is/was contamination of the filter in the fuel delivery module. This problem was said to make it possible for a reduction of fuel and/or loss of fuel to the engine. This problem obviously had the possible effects of engine surging, hesitation, or skipping, if you will, all of which technically could have resulted in a crash.

FORD FOCUS RECALLS, 2000

In other 2000 models, they had to do Ford Focus recalls because the roof pillar was problematic and could have caused head injuries. Evidently, these numbers of recalls were the record-setting ones, beating out other auto makers and bowing only to General Motors “X cars--Buick Skylark, Chevrolet Citation, Oldsmobile Omage and Pontiac Phoenix""when GM had to claim thirteen recalls in their “first two years" of making the models, says the Consumer Affairs reporter.

But while Ford Focus recalls"for the compact that started being manufactured in 1998 – have been drastic and many, other Ford recalls have been limited to very minor problems or concerns, having a windshield wiper and washer motor come up in some series missing grease, or having possible excessive or “premature wear" on the tires.
Again with the tires. Hmmm.

So, what´s to suggest to a big big company that once manufactured a car like the T-Model?

Maybe Ford Focus recalls could be minimized if the Focus designers and makers focused on a different manufacturer for the tires and wheels? Maybe a merge is in order…or at least a contract with Goodyear, Goodrich, or somebody….regardless of his or her or their sexual orientation.
