Before we get started I have a confession to make. If you are reading this you have probably found yourself pondering the same thoughts as me. Is writing articles really that important and does it really get my website noticed by the major search engines. Will it really boost my website's popularity and most of all will it help increase the income my programs are generating?
Well, the answer to all of the above is an absolute "YES". Do you remember the title of this article ? Writing Articles: Why Is It Important? Good, I'm glad you remember, because this is what we will be addressing in this writing.
It is a known fact that search engine optimization is usually done on a continual basis. Websites that have high rankings today, can be ranked lower tomorrow. Your website can be in the top 20 in your category or niche today, and tomorrow you could be number 387 in the rankings. Now, none of us, as Internet Marketers, can control the logic behind search engine rankings algorithms. Only those that are doing the programming know this. So much for manipulating the search engines!
What we do know is this - search engines love content. Yes, content is truly king! An article written properly is a great source of content for the search engines. Just be sure that your articles are relevant in their content.
It stands to reason that if your website is being picked up by all of the major search engines, then your website has a good chance of being noticed. Yes, it does - about a 1 in 1 billion chance of being noticed because you do not have relevant content pointing back to your website or program. Statistics state that over 85% of prospective custumers search the Internet to find information. Therefore if you want your website or programs to show up were prospects can see it, your website must be search engine friendly.
Writing articles provides a major source of relevant content pointing back to your website or program which increases your link popularity. Link popularity is what will begin your rise to the forefront of the search engines.
Without link popularity your website or program is just one of the many millions of websites in this vast society of cyberspace that is going unnoticed. There are thousands of websites and blogs being introduced to the world wide web on a daily basis. Do not be fooled, building a website is nothing like building a baseball or a football field. You know the saying, you build it and they will come. Well this may be true with baseball or football, but it is not true when it comes to your website and the internet. In order for someone to play on your field, they must first know you exist and second know where to find you. Writing articles is by far one of the best ways, if not the best way, economically and productively, to increase your link popularity.
Link popularity, no doubt, increases exposure, and exposure increases your chances of click-thru’s and traffic to your website. Traffic will convert into cash because you have something that the consumer believes will make their lives just a little bit better. Remember, they will not know that you are there unless you point them to your website.
Now, I do realize that you may be new to Internet Marketing, and the thought of writing articles can be quite intimidating and challenging to say the least. Trust me, I have been there. I think I wrestled with the idea of writing articles for months, and I am sure I had 100's of what I thought were valid reasons for not writing articles, and I'm sure you can come up with quite a few yourself. But the fact remains that if you truly desire to be picked up by the search engines and increase your link popularity and traffic to your website or program, you must have content - and relevant content.
I do believe that by now if you're reading this you are thoroughly convinced that you have a need to start your quest of writing articles. So here are a few suggestions on getting started. First, figure out what you want to write about. For example, you could write on the theme of your website, or you could even write about the benefits of the program that you are promoting, as long as your article does not sound like a blatant ad. The possibilities are virtually endless, just start somewhere, you will be glad you did!
