The dog’s most basic primal need; to follow a leader. It is the job of the human to lead, and thus put the dog in touch with his "inner wolf". Wolves in the wild are in harmony with themselves and their environment, and thus they are not neurotic, aren't needlessly aggressive, don't have separation anxiety, aren't obese, aren't hyperactive, and aren't obsessive-compulsive. With the application of Alphatude, our own beloved dogs don't need to be burdened with these afflictions anymore, either.

In a nutshell, dogs perceive two types of energy; weak and strong, That is it. Either you are a leader or you are a loser. Either you are predator or prey. Either you are dominant or you are submissive.

Their system of energy is binary; on or off, hot or cold, weak or strong. So two members of a pack (which can mean you and your dog) can’t occupy the same social position, at the same time or own the same resource the same resource at the same time. There can be a great deal of fluid social movement between members of a pack, but when all is said and done, the Alpha chooses the picks the tune, finds the beat, and keeps it strong. Strong energy is what I call Alphatude. The opposite of Alphatude, is Losertude or weak energy.

WHAT IS ALPHA-TUDE"
Alpha-tude is about energy and intention. Alpha-tude is all about how your dog perceives you, and your effect upon him. Alpha-tude energy is strong, hot, dry, forward moving, commanding, authoritative, guiding, balanced, harmonious, kind, mothers-not-smothers, happy, instinctive, just, firm, fair, calm, bright, salty, non-verbal, physical, concrete, consistent, constant, compassionate, male but not macho, proactive, just-enough, just-in-time, practical, realistic, active, yang-style steady energy is considered Alpha-Tude energy.

Famous people who project Alpha-tude™ are: Steve McQueen, Yule Brenner, Han Solo, Brad Pitt, Batman and Robin, Jack Sparrow the Pirate or Paul Newman as Cool Hand Luke. Remember Margaret Thatcher, Queen Elizabeth, Cleopatra, Sophia Loren, Laura Bush, Oprah Winfrey, Golda Meir, Ann Richards the Governor of Texas, or Mother Teresa. Dogs needs Leaders with calm, confident energy and intentions.

When the human provides Alpha-tude, the ideal condition for the dog, and allows the dog to experience emotional surrender, mental subordination, and physical submission to a leader, the dog is in natural balance.

Without this submission and surrender to the human will, the dog is as a wild beast: unreliable, untrustworthy, and unpredictable. For each and every action, there is an opposite reaction, this applies to physics as well as dog training as well as to relationships. What is the opposite of Alpha-tude? The opposite of Alpha-tude" is Loser-tude".


LOSER-TUDE:™
Loser-Tude™ energy is soft, withdrawing, afraid, too much or too little, anxious, nervous, smothering, unsure, insecure, slave-like, cloying, sweet, over-nurturing, smothering, weak, slow, inactive, ineffective, excessively verbal, over-emotional, abstract, too loud, too soft, untrustworthy, vacillating, uneven, focused in the past, attached to hurt, loss, grief, guilt, unpredictable, hysterical, unrealistic, inefficient, reactive yin-style energy.

In general, those who act as if they are their dogs 'lovers'; constantly, often unconsciously fondling, touching, kissing, hugging, feeding, baby-talking to the dog are projecting this energy. These are dog owners who are held hostage in their own homes, live in fear that their dog will inadvertently hurt someone, and always pulled down the street by their crazy, rude, out-of-control dog.

In Nature, a creature with weak, soft energy is dinner. Dinner is never in a position to be respected or obeyed, it can only be consumed. People by attempting to show a dog, “love" before anything else, come across as weak. Dogs need leaders, not lovers. If you act as if you are your dog's lover, you are a loser (from the point of view of your dog) and not fit to be respected or to be obeyed.

In order to understand why dogs have this insatiable and eternal need to find, test and then follow an Alpha or gentle leader, we have to understand what a dog is and how he blends in with people.

Alpha-ness, or the state of being your dog's gentle leader is a mind game not a muscle game. Dogs are genetically programmed to seek the highest social position possible in his environment. Dogs are always running for a "higher office"---YOURS!

They do this by testing your suitability for leadership with "Mind Games". These "Mind Games", cleverly disguised as play, test your skill, your smarts, your speed, your strength and stamina.

People as a rule have no idea that their "spoiling" of Little Dogzilla, by letting Little Dogzilla win these many mind games has created an expensive liability. Resources, especially to the domestic dog, are much more than just food, water, air and sex.
