Hello From Austria: Arrival And First Impressions (I) Many of you will know that I am originally from Austria, but that I have been living in Toronto for more than 20 years. I left Austria early on, by myself, at the young age of 20 and found a permanent home in Canada's largest, most multicultural city. I always realized that I originally came from a beautiful country, but somehow the big wide world was calling me and settling in Canada's most...... Source : Europe Vacation Package

Explore Beauty Of Sicily Sicily - the name alone conjures up images of an exotic island, a mysterious and fascinating past. I have wanted to explore Italy for some time now since I had not been there for a long, long time, and when I was pondering which region of Italy to explore Sicily came to mind. I figured this island would offer a combination of fascinating history, rich culture, scenic beauty, and an opportunity for...... Hello From Sicily - Eolian Islands - Here We Come! Following my last day in Taormina and my arrival last night in Milazzo I caught a good rest to get up early today to repack my suitcase and remove a number of items that I was not going to need on my sailing trip through the Eolian Islands. This will be my first sailing trip ever, and it will be combined with Italian language studies, offered by a Milazzo-based language school called Laboratorio...... Hello From Sicily After our explorations of Lipari and Salina yesterday the weather was going to keep us on the island of Salina today. I woke up early at about 6 am and stuck my head out of the boat. A beautiful sunrise was in the making so I grabbed my camera and took in the pink, orange and peach coloured hues of this glorious sunrise in Santa Marina. Dark coloured clouds were hanging on the horizon. A catamaran...... Similar Editorial : by Susanne Pacher. | Source : Fernandina Beach Vacation Rentals
Hotel Ownership In Taormina I really enjoyed my location at Hotel Villa Nettuno, this 13-room family run hotel on the north side of Taormina. Since it was a rainy day today anyway, I decided to find out a bit more about this hardworking family who have dedicated their lives towards making foreign travelers feel welcome in Taormina. So I sat down with Vincenzo and Salvatore, the father and son team that together with Maria,...... Similar Editorial : by Richard Zwicky. | Source : 5 Star Hotels Amsterdam
Touring In Sicily Language study travel is not at all new to me. Two years ago I went to the University of Havana to study Spanish, and last year I studied Spanish at two different language schools in Cuernavaca, Mexico. I obviously love the Spanish language and the huge variety of Spanish-speaking destinations, but Italy is a gorgeous country in its own right - another perfect place for a language-study trip.So my...... Hello From Sicily - A Fantastic Driving Tour Around Mount Etna Today was Italian Labour Day, a big national holiday that presented the perfect opportunity to do a little out of town excursion: a drive around Mount Etna. So together with Jill, a co-student of mine from England, we rented a little two-door Lancia to go on a country driving tour. At 50 Euros the rental was not exactly inexpensive, but we figured it would be worth it to be able to explore the...... Similar Editorial : by Susanne Pacher. | Source : Used Car Pricing Guide
Hello From Sicily - An Italian Cooking Class I had thoroughly enjoyed my personal Sicilian history lesson provided by Alessandro Adorno, the Founder and Director of the Babilonia Language School. All About Sicily On a gorgeous morning following a good sleep after last night's cooking lesson I woke up at about 6 am and stepped out on the balcony of my hotel room. The sun was just coming up, and the sky was filled with shades of purple and pink. Far away I could see the outline of a strip of land: the Italian mainland, more precisely the Region of Calabria, was visible on this clear day for the first time....... Hello From Sicily - Goodbye Taormina - Hello Milazzo! My last day in Taormina had started: I woke up at daybreak to pack my suitcase since later today I would be relocating from Taormina to the city of Milazzo. I enjoyed my final breakfast on the gorgeous terrace of Hotel Villa Nettuno, the place that had been my home for the last seven nights. Pictures of yesterday's hike up Mount Etna flashed to my mind. The view over the Ionian Sea continued to...... Similar Editorial : by Susanne Pacher. | Source : Travel Destination Guides
Exploring Lipari My first afternoon and night on a sailboat had gone surprisingly well. After our little late night excursion into the town of Lipari I had slept like a stone, only to awake this morning at about 8 am to see in daylight what the island of Lipari actually looks like. So I peeked my head out of the sailboat and I saw it was an absolutely gorgeous day! Blue, sunny skies, not a cloud to be seen....... Hello From Sicily - Exploring Stromboli Due to bad weather yesterday we spent the entire day docked at Santa Marina di Salina but we had nevertheless a great experience during our driving tour of the island, with expert guidance provided by two locals. Our first Italian lesson had also progressed smoothly and a quiet dinner capped off an occasionally drizzly and grey day.Well, today was another day, and when I peeked out of the sailboat...... Hello From Sicily - Picturesque Panarea I had definitely overcome my little bout of seasickness last night on our way from Stromboli to Panarea. A good rest had cured all my symptoms and I was ready to tackle the world again. Panarea was waiting. Reminiscent of a little prairie dog I stuck my head out of our sailboat at about 8 am and I realized that we had another absolutely gorgeous day ahead of us. I was one of the earlier passengers...... Sight Seeing In Sicily Our beautiful dinner in the old town of Lipari last night was another opportunity to get to know Sicilian cuisine. A light-hearted evening was followed by a night of deep sleep and by 8 am this morning I stuck my head out of the boat: another gorgeous day! Everyone was still sleeping and I had about an hour and half to walk into town and catch another glimpse of picturesque Lipari. I mailed my......
