There has never been a mobile phone that has captured the imagination of the public like the new Apple iPhone. This new device, with its unique user interface and beautiful design is certain to become the hottest mobile ever when it is released to the public.
The iPhone takes the idea of music in a mobile to a whole new level, boasting a much larger memory than rivals, as well as offering users to combine it with their existing iPod software and music that they have bought from iTunes.
The iPhone blurs the lines between different gadgets, including more features than many of its rivals including a high quality camera, the aforementioned iPod, and of course the ability to connect to the internet through the mobile network.
There is nothing new about what the iPhone offers of course, many phones that are already on the market such as the Nokia N95 already offer the same functionality as the Apple, but where these other models really lag behind is in the way in which the user is able to interact with the software.
Rather than utilizing a keypad like more conventional phones, the iPhone uses a touch screen that behaves in a completely intuitive manner, and lets users navigate easily through its menus in order to access the functions of the phone.
Apple have used the information on user behaviour that they have gathered over twenty years in the computer world to create an operating system for the iPhone that will revolutionize the way in which people use their gadgets.
Because of the amount of demand that Apple knew there would be for the iPhone, its release has been delayed a number of times in order to ensure that the company would have enough phones available to meet demand. This has allowed other manufacturers to beat Apple to the market with their own touch screen phones such as the Samsung W559, which also boasts a powerful camera and a media player.
Of course, what none of these other rival touch screen phones have is the cachet of the Apple iPhone, and despite their sleek designs, they have not managed to capture the attention of the public in the same way. Although they boast good looks and many features, they lack the smoothness of the iPhone, and the ability to be linked in with the rest of a person's music collection held in iTunes, which is why the iPhone on its release will still be number 1!
