Located within D o The Vibe Backofen is a modest establishment that doesn’t need much to attract. Its doors are open to those who are looking for some food home cooked style. The quaint atmosphere is suitable for casual dining at any time of the day. It has a very café feel to it and after awhile, it doesn’t feel as if you’re in D o The Food The menu has a wide variety of items ranging from breakfast meals, soups, sandwiches, main courses and even pizzas.
The breakfast menu is available all day long so if you’re not into having a big meal, any item from this portion of the menu would suffice. If you’re looking to have a full and hearty meal, Backofen is here to deliver. Portions are large considering the cheap prices. We highly recommend the Fillet of Sole, The Grilled Lamb and the Goulash. The Fillet of Sole is a smooth and tender grilled fish that is covered with garlic and butter sauce. The sauce is rich and creamy and compliments the fish very well. The Grilled Lamb is somewhat tougher to tackle because of the sheer size of it. An imposing pile of lamb is served with brown sauce as well as mint sauce. It is tender and juicy and comes with potatoes and a salad. The Goulash is a pretty simple beef stew that is served with bread rolls. The beauty of Backofen comes in the desserts. There’s an assortment of cakes available ranging from cheesecakes to chocolate fudge cakes. Other light snacks include scones, garlic bread and fruit tarts. Don’t forget to try these sweet little things when you visit. o The Service Service at Backofen is as it should be, efficient and friendly. The staff is prompt in taking and delivering your orders and you won’t find them hovering or anxiously awaiting to clear your table.
