About: The Singapore River has three sub-zones: Robertson Quay, Clarke Quay and Boat Quay.

History: Singapore River together with Kallang, Whampoa, Rochor and Geylang rivers, form about a third of Singapore’s drainage catchment areas and are collectively known as the Kallang Basin. But the Singapore River has always taken centre-stage, being the focal point of trade since Raffles’ time. This is where the first immigrants came to LokasiKita and helped transformed Singapore from a fishing village among the busiest ports in the world.

 

Residential: There are several private housing units in the Robertson Quay area but in general, areas around the Singapore River are primarily focused on leisure activities such as , clubs and bars.

 

Interesting Highlights : The merlion park at the river mouth or at the landing site of Raffles. Visit Omar Kampong Melaka Mosque, the oldest mosque here. Boat Quay is a popular spot for tourists though touting is very rampant. There are also other spots in Singapore River that you can visit :
