About Us

The 4As is a non-profit trade association that represents advertising, media and marketing communications practitioners, agencies, and related businesses in Singapore. 4As’ key objectives are to elevate the stature of this industry, provide a collective voice for the community, and nurture talent and creativity. To achieve its goals, the association works in close co-operation with other key stakeholders such as trade associations, education institutions and government bodies. Besides organising year-long programs to benefit its members and the industry, 4As also runs three reputable industry awards that recognise outstanding talents in advertising creativity and media: The Creative Circle Awards or the Gong Show; the Students Creative Awards, commonly known as The Crowbars; and the Singapore Media Awards. To date, 4As counts over 100 advertising and marketing communications practitioners, agencies and related businesses in Singapore as members.

The Crowbar Awards is an excellent example of the industry and educational institutions coming together to provide a platform for healthy competition and raising the bar in creative thinking. The entries are judged by industry practitioners; hence the awards is a recognised and invaluable means for the recepient to gain entry into the best in advertising industry.

As the industry trade body, the 4As is committed to develop and nurture young talents for the creative sector. Through the awards and other educational initiatives, we continue to foster their strengths and shape them as global laeders for the world.

The Singapore Media Awards (SMA) recognises outstanding media practices and strategies that contribute to a successful advertising campaign. The spirit of the Awards encourages media excellence within the industry, and celebrates the achievements and contributions of Singapore’s media talents. The award also reinforces the important role media plays to the success of a well-executed advertising campaign.

Since its inauguration in 2005, SMA has been raising the bar for Singapore’s media industry, and remains as Singapore’s most prominent award for media professionals. Its award gala night is an annual culmination of the brightest minds in the industry, and is well-attended by more than 400 guests including advertising and media agencies, client marketers, and media owners.

The Gong Awards (also known as the Creative Circle Awards) is seen as the Oscars of the advertising industry, consistently attracting creative professionals from agencies, advertisers, production houses, and media owners, and instrumental in pushing creativity to the edge while helping Singapore grow its reputation as one of the world leaders for print advertising in the process.

This year, the competition is expanded to a 3-day festival consisting of an advertising seminar featuring talks from specially invited national stars in advertising; mini seminars workshops covering the freshest tools and ideas for various advertising channels from print and TV to digital and out-of-home; a CMO industry roundtable, exhibition on the latest services and tools related to the industry, and key industry awards.

Aimed to continually challenge and inspire creative advertising and marketing professionals in their campaigns through best works, new tools and cross-learnings, the Singapore Gong Festival is poised to being the national creative event for Singapore’s advertising and marketing communications industry.
