This was a dinner choice for a casual night with some friends and I'm glad I made the decision to book prior. It was surprising that there was a wait for table on a weekday evening! I had ordered Paella seafood which costs me S$14.80. Itâ??s one of the Spanish paellas choice which served western fried rice and some fresh seafoods such as mussels, squids and shelled marine.

Can't decide between Spanish food, French food or Italian pasta? Or perhaps some Swedish cheeseballs? Ambush is the place for you with its comprehensive dishes from the European regions. Or the local "European Union" might be a more apt description for that place.
Great Europesn cuisine. i like the sausage and rosti!
Check their new outlet at plaza sing extension! Love their sausages and pasta:)
Exquisite Spanish, German and European cuisines now opens in Atrium@Orchard, Plaza Singapura New Extension.
First time here and i tried their Vongole spaghetti in cream sauce. Nothing too fantastic to rave about. It was in fact pretty normal. Vongole are fresh, sauce was flavourful and tasty, spaghetti was well cooked and soft. Service was pretty great as well. I have yet to try other dishes given many ravings on them. Will definitely be back for the rest. Do give here a try!
i went to ambush for dinner. They serve really cool food. I ordered their rosti with sausage. Initially I thought I will not be full by the portion. However once I downed my two sausages and rosti. I was so full. The sausages are really solid, very huge in size. It is very juicy inside. The meat they used are really fresh that’s why their sausages taste so good. the rosti is pretty good too, it is rather light and goes absolutely well with the sausages.
i went to ambush for an outing with my girlfriends. I decided to try their crispy chicken aglio olio. The chicken was marinated in some sort of spices and deep fried. It was very fragrant. the outside of the chicken is crispy on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside. Normally when you deep fried something, the moisture tends to escape and the meat will dry up but this was not the case. The fussili was cooked perfectly, I found it very chewy. as a whole the dish was pretty good, meets my expectations.
i had dinner at ambush with my girlfriend. I ordered their ham and cheese fussili. They cooked it in cream sauce. The fussili is really delicious. They are very generous with the ingredients especially their ham. The sauce is very tasty, the cream sauce is really light not too heavy. The fussili is cooked perfectly, not too soggy and pretty chewy. The ham is not too salty as well. the cheese gives the dish a whole new taste. The portion is just right, not too filling but not too little as well.
Try their Japanese baby scallop with fish roe cream. Do look out for their lunch deals!
The apple pies here are quite big slice and the amount of applie cubes in it is really generous. The crust is full of the fragrant from the butter and cheese which make the crust really fragrant and it is also quite crunchy on the outside as well. The apple fillings is cooked in thick sweet apple gravy which really blend in well with the crispy crust. However the price is abit too high and may not sould reasonable to have it for dessert especially it is almost near to ten dollars for a slice of it.Fortunately the cosy environment here may make you forget the high price you have paid for their apple pie.Spending: Approximately SGD 8(Tea)
Ambush is a western style restaurant at the second level of Jurong Point 1. I was attracted by their menu pictures as well as the open concept and hence decided to have my meal there. Their specialty seems to be german sausages but since I am not really a fan of sausages, I tried their salmon pasta instead. The pasta is very smooth and not clumpy and it is very flavourful with the tomato and olive oil dressing. The salmon fish is also not too tough and is quite tender, though it tastes slightly bland. Their lunch sets are quite affordable and worth a try.
The staff was pleasant and patient in taking our order even though we took a while to decide.. Decided to get a set combo for main course + soup & main course + dessert + drinkThe soup was cream of clam chowder over garlic bread. Though the clam chowder isn\'t great to write home about, it was thick and creamy and had clams inside. Thankfully it wasn\'t overly salty as there seems to be so many ways that clam chowder could be made wrong. The Seafood Combo was chosen with the sauce that gave a tint of BBQ.Clam with Thai Basil I was surprised to hear that the sauce could be chosen for the Clam pasta as I had assumed that normally restaurants only serve Clam Pasta with White Wine I would say that the combos that can be made here is surprising, especially since you can play around with the sauces and the choice of pasta.Spending: Approximately SGD 10(Lunch)
After a tiring shopping day,I had the Vongole spaghetti in cream sauce. Nothing special; nothing much to complain about except that I prefer my vongoles drenched in white wine sauce rather than cream. But then again it is my personal preference. Service attitude was rather commendable. Honestly speaking I haven\'t tried their other offerings but this dish alone has made me come back a few times.
Happened to chance upon ambush and my friend and I made an impromptu decision to come in for a quick bite. My friend recommended we order this - fries with meatballs. The meatballs are delish! It is bouncy and so juicy. I love the burst of flavour in my mouth as I bite into it. I think this is on par with the ones at ikea or even better. The fries are just the normal type but I appreciate that it was still warm and hence it is not soggy, though I had no complains about soggy fries. It is a nice, enjoyable quick bite!
Had dinner here with my boyfriend the other day after shopping. Anyway, ambience wise is very food court like on long wooden tables and benches (not the best seating, but maybe for space saving). We sit next to the big window in which we could see the chefs cooking the food. The food was actually surprisingly really delicious. I always have very low expectations of western food in Singapore, and even lower when it comes to fusion food. We had aglio olio with fried chicken the aglio olio (you have a choice of about 4 different pastas) was super flavorful and super delicious. I asked for less spice and it turned out very well. They had sprinkled shredded seaweed on the top which turned out very nice! The chicken on the top was more impressive, perfectly fried, warm and crispy. The service was surprisingly wonderful! The waiters and waitresses were very polite and attentive. They served us ice water and refilled it when we had asked for more. All in all I would definitely come back again! Spending: Approximately SGD 20
Ambush is a good place for some nice German sausages. Be sure to go there during lunch hours for their value set lunches. You\'ve a choice of either a $9.90 or $11.90 set which includes a drink & soup.Set lunch 1: $9.90Set lunch 2: $9.90 + $2 to change side to RostiSet lunch 3: $11.90We also ordered their Clams & Mussels Pot in Vinc Blanc sauce @ 15.90. You can also choose to have either Clams or Mussels & a variety of sauces. It was our son\'s birthday, so we ordered their Molten Choc Cake. The cake didn\'t turn out as we\'d envisaged. When my son took a scoop, the melted chocolate inside didn\'t flow out as it was supposed to be. You\'ll be disappointed if you\'re a Molten Choc Cake lover. Other than the cake, this was our 5th visit there & we\'re loving it!
I chanced upon Ambush while shopping in jurong point and decided to dine there seeing as their lunch sets are priced quite attractively. Looking though the menu, there are german sausages, pastas and spanish paella (rice-like dish mixed with the meat of your choice). Feeling less adventurous, I decided to get the salmon pasta. I like how delicious the pasta is with their seasoning. More importantly, it is not overcooked, hence it is al dente. However, the salmon did not impress me at all, it tasted very ordinary. I saw other people ordering their sausages, perhaps I would go for that next time around.
When we were there, there was about 3 groups of people in the queue. Fortunately, we didn\'t have to wait too long. The seating arrangements were a bit cramp inside the restaurant. The menu was like a newspaper, interesting. It offers aan extensive array of European cuisine. This night, we were only interested in the Italian cuisine. They have four different choices of pasta. To start off, we had this Brushchetta with mushroom soup.My hubby ordered this Potobello Mushroom - Red Pesto Cream Spaghetti. My kids had this Bolognese beef fusilli.I was the most picky one of all. I wanted the Alantic White Cod Fillet but the sauce on thhe menu was Green Pesto & Pine Nut. Some kind of white sauce. I didn\'t really like white sauce and I was so glad when the waitress told me that I could change the sauce. So I asked for Aglio Oilo Linguine with the White Cod. The portion of the pasta was just right. The Cod was fresh.
Had dinner at Ambush last week with my friends! We ordered the Mesclun salad with salmon belly. It was served with a generous portion of fillets. Thesalmon belly was warm too. The salmon belly was very well prepared and was middle rare. It was so good it was practically oozing with flavours with every bite of the salmon. Yums.
Went with a group of friend to ambush pasta at taka basement, its at the open food kiosk area, directly to the back, at a corner. Ambush is a affordable place where you get to eat nice pasta. The quantity and quality of the food is not bad. serving size is filling and taste great. Ordered the scallop spaghetti white sauce pasta and top up to a set which comes with soup of the day and a toast garlic bread. i love the mushroom soup and the garlic bread. it taste awesome. the pasta was quite good too. will go back to try other pasta.
i went for dinner to ambush with my family again. we were at takashimaya shopping and we got really hungry. as we could not decide what to eat for dinner, we passed by ambush at the basement, we did not hesitate and headed to have our meal there. i ordered their frankfurt with rosti. their frankfurt was indeed juicy. the rosti was very light and crispy. an awesome combination.
Ambush is a restaurant at J8 that sells affordable and delicious Western food. (they also have outlets elsewhere in Singapore though im not sure where) I tried their sausages (see IMG1) and their Swedish meatball linguine. Their sausages are just about as good as those you can find in Brotzeit ( i will review it soon). And the serving size was just nice, not too much whipped potato to fill you up and not too much sausages like brotzeit is apt to serve. The swedish meatballs tasted like ikea\'s version of the same dish, though unlike Ikea, it serves great linguine too (to be fair, theres a price difference between Ambush and Ikea even if ambush is pretty reasonably priced). Service was prompt the the atmosphere was suitable for a chit chat session - we had a girls gathering there to catch up on each other\'s life.
I met up with some of my friends for a nice meal at ambush. Luckily for us, we did not go at the peak hours, so the place was not so packed. As I was not so hungry, I just ordered their meatballs and fries. the fries are really crispy and are the mos burger thick kind. Fried till golden brown, it is not too salty as well. The meatballs are really good, very juicy and tasty. You can tell that the meat they used to make it is very fresh. it is comparable to that of ikea’s.
the mixed seafood pasta at ambush is really delicious, firstly the spaghetti sis very smooth, not soggy. secondly the tomato sauce is really good, not too sweet or sour. thirdly, the seafood is really fresh, sweet and succulent. a great dish.
i love the food at ambush. They use the fresh ingredients. One thing is that their service is quite good and you don’t really have to wait too long for your food. So when your mood is good, everything will taste nicer. But if not for the service, the food also taste really good. so I guess it is an extra perk!
i was attracted by this simple yet unique style of the Restaurant at Jurong point. It stated as a fast and casual European dining, me and my boyfriend were quite happy with the foods provided. The clams pot is one of the signature dish and their pasta is a must try item too. The price is rather affordable and the general service provided was acceptable.
Ambush is tucked at a corner of Ngee Ann City\'s food basement, serving Italian & German cuisine. I ordered the Vongole linguine. The difference between the Vongole here is that Ambush cooks it the cream based style. It tasted pretty okay on the overall, but I reckon the amount of clams served were rather little.
I had the rosti with German sausages for my dinner here on a weekend. I had the sausages with crispy skin, not sure what\'s the exact name of that on their menu. The rosti was pretty normal; I just feel that Marche\'s one is better. What I do not like about the dish is that it was on the oilier side. Portion served was rather small too.
Ambush serves a fusion restaurant which serves a relatively wide variety of food. The food is affordable and is served in big portions as well. They have lunch promotions on selected main course, inclusive of complementary soup of the day and choice of a drink. However, I will recommend all readers not to choose the ice tea as it tastes awful even after adding extra sugar syrup.
Upon great recommendations from my colleagues, we headed down to Ambush at Jurong Point for a birthday celebration. The "restaurant" was actually more like a cafe, situated in a kiosk-like area just outside courts. After a short wait, we were shown to our tables. Our area was a little squeezy and were given a square table for the 4 of us. Food was served promptly, but iced water needed reminders before it was served. The paella was tomato-y, rice was sticky and just nice. On top of the seafood ingredients, there were also pieces of bacon, sausage, capsicums and tomato. A little sour, but quite appetizing till the end where it got a little too much.
I was shopping and Jurong Pt and i walk past this cafe Ambush which offer Western cuisine at affordable prices. The cafe adopts an open concept style. I take a look at the menu board and find the food pretty interesting. I share with my hubby about the cafe at Jurong Pt and he had went to try out the food with his friends too. He also commented the food is worth a deal and will go there often too.

finally ambush is having a value for money promotion!. the price varies from $9.90++ to $11.90++ all comes with soup and drink. This set meal includes italian set meal, swissgerman set and executive set. i tried the swissgerman set and it was surprising very delicious. the sausage was very juicy and yummy. initially when the food come, i was worried that it may not be enough to fill my stomach, but at the end, i was really full just eating the sausage.

Ambush, a cafe offering Western cuisine at affordable prices. I walked past this cafe, took a glance @ the menu board & found the prices reasonable & interesting dishes being offered. The cafe adopts an open concept style and people could easily watch what you are doing ( of course eating !) at the cafe.

The Menu
The menu was printed in a large board which makes it easier to read. The cafe offers a wide range of cuisine – spanish paella, Italian pasta, German pork knuckle… yes! you can find them here @ Ambush! They offer a range of pastas which allows you to decide on the sauce and ingredients.

Mesclun salad with salmon belly ($8++)
I had the (s) Mesclun salad with salmon belly and it came with generous fillets of the salmon belly. The salad leaves were cool but the salmon belly was warm. The salmon belly was well prepared ( middle rare ) and oozing with flavours in every bite. I wished the salad leaves were a bigger portion cos there were too much salmon belly fillets.

Salmon fillet with Honey mustard dressing ($14.50++)
The 2 generous salmon fillets were really worth it’s price. I request the salmon to be done medium rare and it was well executed. The salmon fillets were served with slices of potatoes sauteed with bacon strips & onions & top with purple cabbage.
The pieces of potatoes had a fragrant aroma of bacon and the onions further enhance its flavour. I like the sweet purple cabbage which were soft & easy to chew. The salmon was really juicy and has its natural sweetness . The accompanying lemon honey mustard sauce ( serve @ the side ) was really good. It has a tangy flavour and melts in my mouth … like butter.

Verdict: Reasonable prices and delicious food (rate 8/10 ) , I would definitely make a re-visit. Service is prompt and friendly too.

The first picture. Is Paella.

It is a lip-smacking good dish which reminds me of the very awesome and addictive risotto I kept stealing from my friend’s plate in Melbourne two years back.

Paella is a Spanish dish of rice cooked with onion, tomato, garlic, saffron, vegetables, and various meats, including chicken, chorizo, and/or shellfish.

I love the smoked duck and orange salad, which will never fall into my category of ‘rabbit food’ [ie; raw, sometimes unappetizing vegetables that make people hungry after 30 minutes of eating them] because it is zesty and tangy and so un-rabbit-food-like. Thumbs up for this dish!

The bill came up to $107 inclusive of GST, which was reasonable [to me], considering that the four of us ordered enough to feed an army the following:

1 glass of summer peach tea [which has real peaches in it]
2 glasses of hoegarden
1 bowl of clam chowder soup
Garlic bread
1 large plate of salad
Meatballs in brown sauce, with chips
1 large bucket of clams in white wine sauce, and more chips
3 woks of paella

A fresh-looking restaurant with a whimsical feel, friendly non-intrusive staff, affordable tasty food… What’s there not to like? I have been there twice and both were good experiences. I will definitely go back to try their other stuff.
