The fisherman’s pride. Grill fish with herb ($6.50), of which we chose tasty rice and house salad. Express or no express, the standard in quality wasn’t really apparent. But given my last visit to Aston Specialist was over a year ago, my failing memory might not be a good judge. And quite unlike the name, the tasty rice wasn’t very tasty. I called it the fried-rice-without-eggs. And i love eggs, so it was a no-no for me.

The cold side’s dishes include Coleslaw, Potatoes, Pasta Salad and House Salad. While the hot side dishes you can choose from Baked Potatoes, BBQ Bean, Corn on the Cob, French Fries, Garden Veggies, Mashed Potatoes, Onion Rings and Tasty Rice. I picked the Teriyaki Chicken with Baked Potatoes and Onion Rings. The chicken is grilled with a slight char. The Teriyaki sauce is added on top. The chicken is tender but the Teriyaki sauce is not very strong. The Baked Potatoes comes with a small tub of butter. The Potatoes is well baked and the butter added to it gave it some flavour or else there is no taste. The Onion Ring taste is still slightly crispy after I brought home. I like that the items are packed in a compartment Styrofoam box, so that the flavour is not mixed up. They are thoughtful to put a sheet of foil under the main course, so that the high heat from the Grilled item will not melt the box. Spending: Approximately SGD 5.90
