NO.1 National Musical Instruments Factory is the production unit of
Dun Huang brand musical instrument, the leading brand in China. It has a
consortium of companies producing a variety of musical parts. In 2004,
the enterprise achieved a total sales of RBM 110 million, about 90
million dollars more than the second leading company. The Dun Huang
brand is well-known both nationally and internationally. In all past
professional instruments making competitions held in China, the company
always came in top three. This again demonstrates the company’s
commitment in producing top-quality instruments.
The company’s philosophy is people-centeredness. The
company emphasizes on the development, nurture and quality of Chinese
culture. Hence, the company contribute most of its profits in promoting
cultural activities. (In 2004, the company’s net profit is only RBM 2
million).

collaborated with Shanghai local government to establish a museum that
collects and displays a large variety of real and imitated antique
musical instruments. At the same time, the company publishes a wide
range of monthly magazines, which are well received by the public. In
the continuous effort to maintain production of high quality
instruments, the company invites many famous performers like Liu De
Hai(刘德海), Min Hui Fen(闵惠芬), Lu Chun Ling(陆春龄), Wang Zhong Shan(王中山), Li
Meng(李萌) etc. as long-term consultants. In addition, the company
organizes a national competition annually, which raises the standard of
instrument making, promotes creativity and creates an atmosphere of
friendly competition. To promote cultural music, competitions are
organized in several large cities in China. Dun hang brand is hence well
known nationally and internationally.
Established in 2001,
Doritale Enterprise is the sole agent of Shanghai NO.1 National Musical
Instruments Factory. In 2003, Doritale Enterprise and the Singapore
Chinese Orchestra jointly organized a demonstration on the making of
Er-hu. On 24th June to 1st July 2006, the company will collaborate with
the Singapore Chinese Orchestra and will sponsor a variety of
activities. This includes the exhibition of imitated antique
instruments, exhibition and sales of Chinese orchestra instruments,
instrument making demonstrations, musical performances and Gu Zheng and
Er-hu competitions.
In year-end 2004, with the support of
Shanghai NO.1 National Musical Instruments Factory, a service centre
was established with regular consultation from Shanghai masters.
The
company hopes to work more closely with schools next year. Old
instruments will be purchased from schools to be retrofitted and lend
to students with financial difficulties.
