Ocean Granite started off as a one-manned show business in year 1991. 

At the begining, we occupied a so called a “mickey mouse” warehouse in Kallang, right beside the river. Mainly marketing pre-cut granites, which was the core business for natural stones in those days, our managing director, Mr Stephen Loo made a trip to India to source for granites.

It was a fruitful trip as he started off quite a number of relationship with different quarry owners. This business relationship gradually turned into friendship and with the help and support from this good friends, Mr Stephen Loo was confident, raring to further explore into natural stones.

In the late 90’s, business in Asia was hit hard by the financial crisis and Ocean Granites was dealt a heavy blow as we were young and not established. At one point of time, Mr Stephen Loo had his car being towed away and couldn’t afford to pay the one and only employee that the company had. This encouraged him to rope his wife into the business and in year 1997, his wife, Ms Lilian Ng resigned her job as a banker and joined her husband to build up this company.           

Their second son, Kelvin joined the company in early 2000 and pick up the ropes of this trade from scratch. He started off working as a labourer whose job was only to pack, stuff and un-stuff marble and granite into crates to prepare for delivery. After which, he was attached to the delivery driver to visit sites and made deliveries to further understand the daily job scope. After his marriage in year 2008, Kelvin set his mind upon this business and whole heartedly concentrated to expand the business and explore for new products. In early 2011, we launched our latest "Luxury Stone Collection" with a wide range of Luxury Stones, Onyx and Semi-Precious Stone.  

For the past 20 years, we grew gradually and steadfast, expanding in capacity yet increasing our quality, together with the passion for nature, we have come a long way to become one of the leaders today, in the natural stone industry.

Most of our principle supplier has remained the same since 1991 and the continuing strong relationship with the best suppliers and quarry owners around the world ensures consistent delivery of high quality natural stones.
