The Food
The restaurant serves a wide selection of authentic meat and vegetarian Turkish food. It also has some Italian and Continental fare like Pasta and Fish & Chips to cater to less adventurous diners.
Start off your meal with a Hot Turkish Apple Tea ($2). The tiny cup of piping hot tea packs a punch of fruity goodness and sweetness. The apple tea is also served cold for those who want a relief from Singapore's sweltering heat.
The Kiymah Yumurtali ($13.90) makes a great dish to share with friends. Essentially a Turkish version of the pizza, it boasts a crispy crust, topped with mince beef, mozzarella cheese and egg. The toppings taste light and moist, while the perfectly baked crust complements its' texture perfectly.
No Turkish meal is complete without its renowned Kebab. Try the Shish Kebab ($16.90) to experience a kaleidoscope of taste. Diners can choose between lamb, chicken or beef kebab. The meat is marinated and laced with a special home-made sauce and grilled to perfection on a skewer. The Kebab is served with some seasonal vegetables and Pilaf rice. The mixture of spices in the kebab and sweetness in the rice (it contains some raisins, corn and carrots) make an exciting culinary experience, almost like a roller coaster ride of different flavours and tastes.
For those who prefer a lighter meal, the Turkish Farmer Salad ($8.50) is the thing for you. The dish consists of a huge bowl of Mediterranean salad topped with small cubes of cheese. The vegetables are refreshingly fresh and crisp, leaving you wanting more.
