If you’ve been looking for some tranquility amidst the buzz and confusion, then we’d highly recommend Helio Asia. Holding dear to their mission of providing quiet relaxation, Helio Asia goes beyond itself in order to make sure guests are introduced to a comfort zone that only they can provide. From the lay out to the service, it’s almost impossible to say no to what promises to be the most pampering time for your mind, soul and body.

The Balinese inspired décor is the welcoming note for all visitors of this sanctuary. The reception is filled with bamboo-motif chairs and white see-through curtains , playing up the image of a home away from home. It could be just us, but the air seems to be infused with incense that , without much protests from our side, brings down your defenses. It’s an almost hypnotic quality. Instantaneously, you feel at ease and eager to find out what awaits you beyond this reception.

There are many private rooms here that are prepared for massages, facials and other grooming perks. Complete with their own sound system, a bed and that suspicious-yet-welcomed smell, these rooms are big enough for two, but small enough to give off that much-needed “it’s just me” mode. However, besides these rooms, the rest of the features in this spa will astound you. First up, you will notice a wooden structure that is made complete with curtains, upon your entry. This is called the salas. It is customary to Thai traditions and was specially ordered to complement their services. You should also be made aware that there is a Jacuzzi, nicely hidden somewhere. Aren’t surprises fun? Complete with a tree ( that’s a first for us) and pebbled stones placed randomly around the floor, the Jacuzzi will provide you with the perfect excuse to just forget the world. It isn’t open air though. It’s within the premises itself, but it will not leave you with feelings of cluster phobia.

Besides that, there is a couple room for those who wants to enjoy their treatments together. While there is a sauna and a private shower in the room, the couple haven is merely an extension of the private rooms. However, their considerate move of taking into account the wonders of going through this relaxation period with a significant others, is applaud able. After all, it’s no fun being with someone who is so wound up when you are in that falala mood.

The services provided there are based highly on the existing Asian methods, and are predominantly Thai in their roots. Some of the massages, such as the Royal Thai Massage, will take place in the salas mentioned before hand. The feeling of having your knots undone and your body kneaded into a surrendering mode is extremely soothing with the gentle swishing of the curtains. The royalty sure has it good. Don’t worry, while most spas will ask you to go au naturel, Helio Asia will provide you with a pyjama-like set. So you need not start arming yourself with nudity clauses.

Their facials are equally mind-numbing. With over 60 options, there will be one that is suited just for you and your skin problems. The Pureness treatment is suited for those with problems like pimples and blackheads while the Intense Glow treatment will make you look brighter than your bulbs. Essentially, their treatments will target the surfaces, while ensuring that the problems beneath will be sorted out too.

Starting off with a head and shoulders massage, your beautician will immediately make you forget the fact that there have been some horror stories of other dubious facial joints. But the skin analysis that will be done shall set your mind at ease. There’s something reassuring about knowing that your beautician has the same concerns about your skin. While we don’t believe we are that transparent, we believe skin problems are literally shown on the surface.

Back to the subject, the facials here use products from Maria Galland, a French brand that has won many awards. If you are awake during your facial ( which we weren’t), you will notice that there are many stages to the facial. Nobody said looking pretty comes easy. Eventually, at the end of your specific facials, you will notice a difference when you look into the mirror. Helio Asia will replace the zombie with someone who actually is radiating.

The price range here is not cheap. However, we must stress that the amount you are forking out will be worth it. The services are impeccable, since every staff is personally trained to meet with the high standards that Helio Asia has put itself on. Standardised and very professional, we must also mention that Helio Asia has an excellent grooming package for men. Saved from the frills and lace, they have male therapists at your disposal, if you feel uncomfortable ( or worried of your missus’ reactions ) at the thought of a foreign female hand touching you.

Helio Asia is no newbie in this industry. But they are not as known as some other bigger names due to their lack of advertising stints. But this is justifiable as their reputation spreads rapidly through word-of-mouth. You will only have good things to say about Helio Asia. It’s as addictive as other forms of mind relaxers. Only this time, they don’t do as much bodily harm as the rest, and they’re don’t leave you with a throbbing headache the next day.
