THE STUBBORN AND INCONSIDERATE DOMESTIC HELPER
This domestic helper came back to Singapore again in 2011 after working with 3 employers within 3 years. History record did not indicate any short coming. "Nuningastuti" is pleasant and speak fairly conversational English. At 30, she is single and cheerful. A due diligent check was done on her to ensure that her records, information, age and other declaration given is correct.
We brought her in from Surabaya and given a contract with high salary ($500) and rest days (2 rest days / month).
Unfortunately, 2 days upon her arrival she requested to the agent that she need to work with Malay familky instead of chinese as prior arranged. She further requested that the house must have a room by herself,to pray and fast.
We explained to her that is not possibl;e because she already has employer.....many paper works need to be done ! She than agree to carry on with her employment but at the employer apartment she still thinkng of transfer. The employer soon realeased that this helper is full of lie and the simplest calculation and time reading will never get it right. 2 weeks with the employer she decided to leave the employer and told the employer that her salary given is low and she cant work with old people. Demanded that agent sholud be call and repatraite at once. . A weird action that she is doing for the next 6 months.
The employer soon send her back to agency and have them to her repatriated. in early 2012.

PRIVILAGES/ENTITLEMENT
As EA we would advise that Employer to understand privilages and entitlement when dealing with their fdw. Such as control of handphone usage, timing of offday, sleeping hour or monthly allowances.

COPING WITH NEW GENERATION OF DOMESTIC HELPER
We are taking this opportunity to advise prospective employer of fdw, that the new generation of foreign domestic worker is unlike yesteryears whereby information can be concile on their working condition, the domestic helper are now better inform (facebook, internet,mobile phone, sms etc...) and better protected.
We therefore urge Employer to upgrade and search for EA that provide the latest employment pratices.
