Thomas Station Stop Matching Game
Price: SGD $32.90

Oh My Gosh, these Thomas games are great. I don't know who thought them up but they are wonderful teaching aids. They take many of the common educational games and rework them using Thomas and his Friends.

With this game you get 4 playing boards (they call these `lotto style' boards for reasons unclear to me-but their just playing boards LOL) and 36 character cards. With these preschoolers and kindergartners can play matching and memory and `what's missing' games.

Five Stars. Trainloads of fun and we have found that it is an excellent way to teach our little guy to take turns and practice memory skills. (He's 4 at present.)

I Spy Ready, Set Silhouette Game
Just wanted to review this item in case you were on the fence about buying it. My daughter (4) and I just finished playing this and it was pretty interesting. Interesting more than fun, and not mind-numbingly boring like some kids' games. The quality is good for the cards and plastic silhouettes and everyone plays at the same time, which levels the playing field for kids and adults and cuts down on boredom during wait time. More fun than memory match and really works observation skills. My daughter keeps going back to it because she likes sensorial and spatial activities.
In case anyone was wondering about the strategy, identify the middle object on your silhouette card, then look for the cards that have that same middle object. If your silhouette card has an astronaut in the middle there are only about 4 matching cards that have an astronaut in the middle.

If there is more than one object in the middle of your silhouette card, then choose one of the corner objects and look for the cards that have that same object in the corner.

I Spy Eagle Eyes Junior Game
My 4 year old daughter and I love this game! It's perfect for younger children with limited attention spans because you can play for as long (or short) as you like. She loves being able to ring the bell when she finds the images on the cards. The game boards are sturdy cardboard and the bell is well made, although the cards are like regular playing cards and can be by little hands. Overall, this is a fun and educational game (we get to talk about everything we see in the pictures) and we'll be getting the full version when she gets older.

Jumbo Floor Puzzle. Put the puzzle together and play 'I Spy.'

I Spy 3D Game
Great For Age 5 to 7.

However, the 3D cards are actually pretty impressive. You can actually "see" the pictures and such floating above the cards, and when you reach out with your finger, looks like you can slide it underneath. The 3D works very well.

What's not so obvious from the pictures is that there's no board, the big square it shows is actually made up of cards lined up next to each other. There are a lot of cards.

Thomas Great Race Game
It's a cute game and relatively sturdy. The game play is as follows:

(1) A player picks a card and answers a question, such as, "How many yellow engines are there?" That player counts them and answers, for example, "2." The player then flips over the card to confirm the answer.

(2) If correct, the player selects the matching piece of coal, such as the one marked "2", sticks the coal on the matching track, and his train is pushed up the hill a bit.

(3) The coal pieces are different lengths - either 1, 2, or 3, so as players push in different pieces of coal, their individual trains will advance up the hill at different rates.

(4) Once a player's train crests the hill, gravity will send it to the bottom and that player wins.

There are several significant problems with the game:

--- The game only involves counting up to 3. Therefore, the game will have educational appeal to only kids of young age.
--- You'd think with only 24 cards, the makers would make each card distinct, but they don't. For example, one card with an amusement park scene might ask, "How many circus tents are there?" while another virtually identical card will ask, "How many Ferris wheels are there?"

A Day Out With Thomas Game
A Day out With Thomas Game
I first played this game with my son when he was 4 years old. My son LOVES the game and it has a lot of educational value. The fact that he wants to play the game multiple times in one day and the fact that he will play the game for over an hour says it all. The game is great at working with counting since they have to count the train stops as they take their turns. When they land on stars they have to engage in an activity that's great for preschoolers' imagination and social skills. For instance, at one of the stops, the player draws a card with a picture on it and the player has to tell a story. This stop has been awesome for developing my childs imagination play. He was so shy about telling the stories at first and now he's quite the actor. Another stop has them act out an animal for others to guess. He has a blast both guessing and acting out the animals. Another stop instructs them to sing a song. Again, a really good activity for a preschooler to have to do in front of others. The magic stop has them count the number of rabbits in a hat and then have the other players guess. The player can say "lower" or "higher" or use his/her fingers to give clues. The only stop that's lame is the icecream stop. But, oddly, this is one of my son's favorites so it's just lame for adults. The player has to ask everyone their favorite icecream flavor and then they draw cards to see if they remember which card to give each player(chocolate, strawberry, or vanilla). This is one of those games where you have to be willing to be the interactive parent and have fun, even if it doesn't seem fun to you. We changed up the rules at first and had everyone participate when a player landed on a star stop so that my son could see how fun it was to tell a story or have people guess the number of rabbits. If you want an engaging, interactive, educational game AND your child loves Thomas the Train, this is a great game.
