About Fun Time!
Fun Time! encourages discovery of musical concepts and skills through classical music but yet focusing in imaginative fun. using small-group approach to music education, Fun Time! provides the opportunity for you and your child to explore classical music together throught fun visuals, imaginative stories, creative improvisations, drama, singing, movement and craft.
Watch your child personality and convidence blossom as they embrace the intriguing world of classical music. With your help, we can take classical music from its seemingly elusive realm to one that is close to their hearts. your child should have the opportunity to experiece classical music in a way that is meaningfuul and significant to them.
Parents may "drop off" your child at class, but parent's participation is strongly encouraged.
Curriculum includes 2 CDs, 2 Fun with Composers lesson books by Deborah Ziolkoski.
Fun Time! consistes of a total of 44 lessons over one year. These 44 lessons are split into 4 terms of 11 lessons each. Each weekly lesson is held over 45 minutes with a maximum of 8 children per class.

Activities in a lesson:
Music Literacy
Through a variety of musical variety of musical activities, children will learn pitch awareness, musical concepts and rhythm notation. Through sing-alongs, children are introduced to new words and vocabularym often onews that rhyme or repeat, which makes them easy for your child to learn. Specific learning outcomes will be reinforced through written activity sheets.
Singing
Research has shown that through singing, children learn that music expresses their feelings and ideas. Singing not only teaches yoru child about tone, beat rhythm but also encourages creativity and self-expressiveness.
Storytelling
Fun with Composers brings classical music to life with a unique union of story and song in an appealing interactive approach. Dancing Bugs, Ringmasters and Snobby Pears are just a few fascinating characters unveiled in the power of storytelling in our lesson. Children are drawn comfortably into the intriguing world of classical music through well-known pieces as they quickly embrace drama, songs, movements, instrumental play and art.
Art & Craft
At the end of lesson, a simple craft activity will be included. Most often, props made during these sessions can then be taken home to encourage children to practive with the CD provided.
Pretend & Play
It has been proven by experts that when based upon a child's real life experiences, Dramatic playing of fascinating characters integrated in unique union of story and song helps a child develop social, emotional, sensory, motor, cognitive and language skills. Through Orff and Leban methods assimilated into lessons, children will develop active listening, natural bodily responses to music and their ability to use creative language or actions for self-expression.
