A property being built for commercial use is commercial building. Typically, there are few typical catagories of commercial building, which include office building, industrial building, retail and restaurant hub, multi-function building and non-residential properties such as hotel, hospitality and medical centre, etc. 

Complexicity of lightings are anticipated not only for illumination of the building premises, but also the mandatory rules and regulations imposed by the local relevant authorities. However, architect and lighting designers are focusing more on the overall appearance of the interior and exterior lighting profile for enhancement of task performance which include general lightings, accent lightings, and task lightings as well as landscaping. Generally, lighting application would be provided for public areas such as main lobby, lift lobby, common corridors, emergency escape staircase, public toilets, etc. but not the areas where occupied by the owners or lease tenants.
