Testimonial from Pearl Chong - Henderson Secondary 2004-2008 I have made tremendous improvement especially in my Mathematics and Combined Science of Physics and Chemistry since I joined Voice Works. I started with them at the end of my Secondary Two year when I was down streamed to Normal Academic due to my poor English. Mathematics I started off with Mathematics with Mrs. Tang who helped me build a strong foundation ; which gave me an edge over my friends in Secondary Three. My tremendous improvement in Mathematics was then decided that I was able to do even better and I was put the under supervision of Mr. Tang who taught me in a much faster pace. Mr. and Mrs. Tang put in their heart and soul in teaching every student they taught. This motivated me to excel and do better in my Mathematics. I was soon able to finish most of the chapters in the syllabus in Secondary Four and it was a breeze for me in Secondary 5 where I just needed to stay consistent in practicing my Math on a regular basis. Mr. Tang made sure that I was able to not only finish my papers on time, but also have more than enough time to check my papers thoroughly. Mr. and Mrs. Tang were not only concerned about the students' progress in the subject they are teaching but also the overall performance of their academic life. I obtained an A1 in 'N' levels and A2 for my 'O' levels in Mathematics. Science I was taught by Mr. Wang from the mid of my Secondary Three life. I had a poor foundation in Science ever since Primary School and Science was definitely one of the subjects that I would not like to touch on unnecessarily. Mr. Wang was able to give many life examples and the way he teaches was out of the textbook which made me understand better and was more interested in learning. I managed to improve and even my teachers in school were surprised with the improvement I made and hence had high expectations of me. For Science I obtained a B3 in 'N' and 'O' levels. Chinese Mr. Wang also taught me Chinese in Secondary 5. I decided that if I was able to pass my Chinese well in the earlier half of the year, I would have more time to concentrate on my other subjects instead of needing to re-take my paper again in the later half of the year. Mr. Wang helped me a lot and made sure that my Chinese was not only good enough just to pass but to do well with flying colors. I managed to score an A2 for my Chinese 'O' levels and a distinction in oral. English English was my main reason why I was down streamed to Normal Academic. Thanks to Ms Marylene and Miss Khandi, I was able to pass my English and make it to the Polytechnic. I would once again thank all my tutors who put in the effort to teach me and made it possible for me to go to a Polytechnic. I have scored a total of 18 points in my L1R5 and 14 points in L1R4. I am currently in Temasek Polytechnic's Business Studies group and would soon major in Marketing. |
