Foundation Steps (5-7 years):

How do you catch/capture the attention of a class of 5 to 7 year olds? A child’s attention span is often very short-lived. However, their creativity overflows with abundance! Harnessing its essence requires a well-rounded programme to fully uncover their potential. “Foundation Steps” is developed by Ms Catherine Khoo, founder of the famous Young Author Scheme. With more than 15 years of experience in media and publishing, she now brings with her this passion to mould young minds.

 Alphabet Expressions

Pre-schoolers will now have the opportunity to be exposed to the basics of writing and speaking, through Alphabet Expressions.

Alphabet Authors

Through listening and learning stories penned by Singapore’s very own young authors aged 8 to 12, Alphabet Authors© will give your child the exclusive chance to create his own masterpiece. This is the foundation programme which introduces children to story writing and storytelling. To make it interactive, Alphabet Authors uses Moo-O™ software. Their stories are brought to life through colourful visuals and animation.
Young Author Scheme: My First Book:

The Young Author’s Scheme is Singapore’s first-ever scheme to train young authors, from as young as eight years old. The benefits that these children have seen personally from this scheme has been amazing - the ability to express themselves when verbal words just don’t suffice, being able to put down personal feelings - love, fears, elation, fantasies and even magic. They learn how to open up and this can not only be therapeutic but also offer a sense of fulfilment.

Aspiring Writers and Illustrators Scheme:

Draw and write? Yes! Research in early childhood development has indicated that the visual senses in a seven- and eight-year-old are acute. What’s important is for him to express his thoughts. This highly interactive programme will get him to discover the creative writer in him. It also serves as an intensive introduction to composition writing. Aspiring writers will also learn the art of illustrating from a professional artist. The result: a compilation of their stories in a specially-designed volume.

Young Reader Club

The Young Reader Club magazine’s vision seeks to create the next generation of writers and thinkers. Targeted at students aged 10 -16, half of every issue of YRC is dedicated to showcasing the best original stories.
