Specialty

What makes our diploma program different from other schools

In the first year of the WSQ Diploma in Animation, the program focuses on helping trainees build their foundation in their chosen area of specialization (Visual Effects, Animation or Modeling/Texturing).

The second year focuses on helping trainees gain production experience, focusing on production speed and quality. During the second year, trainees will be attached to CG Protege and specific projects will be assigned to students to simulate a real working environment. Meeting industrial work speed/rates is the focus of our training. This is to ensure trainees can produce quality work as well as work fast enough to meet the industrial needs.
(During the attachment in School, no stipend will be provided)

The Industry Edge Difference

For outstanding students, after the first year, they will have an opportunity to go through an interview with CG companies in our network. Students selected by companies will be attached to them rather than to CG Protege. If trainees are attached to a company, trainees will be offered a monthly salary of $1700 with CPF. As $1700 is an apprentice's pay (not an intern's pay), trainees will need to have basic specialised production skills and ability, in order for the company to put them in the frontline as an apprentice.

We will be selective towards companies we work with as we are concerned about our students' wellbeing and will ensure the apprenticeship has value towards their career.

For those who are attached to companies, our program will continue to upgrade their skills based on the host company's feedback through night-classes at CG Protege, during the apprenticeship period. Our trainers will work with their employers to create structured training to match their specific needs. So far, the companies we are partnering with have responded positively to our tailored training plans.

With this effort, we hope that we can raise the standard of Singapore's pool of talents. We will then have a stronger and more ready pool of talents for new challenges ahead.
