i love korean finger foods! Their crispy chicken and fried potato are my favorites!
The Korean snack from dong dae mun always tempted me to buy from it, coz they have a lot of variety of Korean street food, such as the rice cake, Kimchi pancakes, hot dogs, fried potatoes, fried shiitake, fried kimchi rice, kimchi ramen and etc. I ordered the fried spicy shiitake stick which costs me $1.30. The outer layer of shiitake is a bit crispy but hard, the shiitake is tender and warm inside. The spicy powder make it more tasty and nice to eat. This kind of food is not suitable to eat always, so need to have self control.
If you are really found of eating kim chi, this kim chi noodles willl also at no surprise impress you too.The noodles are really thick and chewy and the portion is really big.Lots of fresh crunchy kim chi are added to it which make the soup really spicy but at the same time very fragrant too.Besides, there are also generous amount ofbigger version beansprouts, fish cakes, shredded carrots and thinly sliced pork in it as well. The presentation was really beautiful and the taste is equally good as well. Moreover the service staffs here are also very friendly too.
I love to eat snacks from Dong Dae Mun! They have many different things like kimchi, chicken sticks, vegetable pancake and so on This time round, i realise they have bento set so ii brought one home for dinner. This bento initially consist of kimichi but i don\'t take spicy food so the staff got me more rice instead! This bento consists of a mixture of fried meatballs, chicken cubes from the chicken stick and chicken karrage I love this mixture, lets you try different combo at one go! The sauce on the rice\'s very nice too, somewhat like terriyaki sauce but it\'s abit different and just as nice! I like that they put sauce on the meats if not it may just get abit dry. Overall the foods tasty and the rice is the pearl kind of rice not the cheapo one Spending: Approximately SGD 4.50(Dinner)
it\'s supposed to be deep fried korean food. rather regretted getting it as it was quite terrible to swallow. it was so super oily the oil was drippping down my chin. it\'s supposed to be potatoe pancake and i\'ve had it elsewhere where it is not so oily and soft and just not that nice. the deep fried potato on a stick is better. service is not that friendly. and their mustard, mayo and chilli sauce bottles are very oily, like they have not cleaned it since last night, since i was the first customer there!
not sure if this is authentic korean but it was pretty bad. it was so oily i almost threw up. took a while to wash the oil off my fingers as well. it\'s supposed to be a potato pancake. they cooked it after i ordered it so had to wait awhile. i added mustard and it was good. you can add other sauces like chilli, mayo, etc. not recommended. took me a long time to choke this down. there are other vegetables in the pancake but i have never had such oily pancake in my life.
Korean Rice Cake !!! Where would you think this shop available? Korea? Nope its in AMK hub ! Let me straight to the point ! The rice cake taste spicy but it was just nice for me ! You ready to get sweat after eating ! It was spongy and elastic, really awesome ! The vegi taste a bit sour, but it is perfect match with the spicy-ness of the soup and rice cakeSpending: Approximately SGD 3
Bought this while I was at Ang Mo Kio Hub. It is actually the smell of this korean rice cake that attracted me. The korean rice cake is nice and yummy, even my Korean friend said it tasted not bad, although she still think that local Korean Rice Cake will be better. It is cheap, and the portion is quite big anyway. It is quite spicy, but that\'s what makes it attractive Spicy and yummy! Definitely worth a try. The rice cakes are quite chewy anyway. It tastes better if served hot, but the bad thing is,there is no place for you to sit down and enjoy.
I\'m always a Korean food lover.I like to try all sorts of Korean food.Of all the Korean food, I like the Korean rich cake the most.Tried the rice cake at dong dae mun.It costs $3 a bowl which is quite expensive because it is quite a small portion. The rice cake was being cooked perfectly and spongy.I love the soup base as it was spicy. There are other ingredients inside such as cabbage and beancurd. The ingredients match with the rice cake perfectly.
After much pondering, we decided to settle for the Korean rice cake. It cost us $3 a bowl. The portion was quite small. The sauce was very spicy, a little salty but not sweet at all. The rice cake is very chewy, cooked perfectly. There were other ingredients inside as well. There were cabbage and beancurd skin. All very delicious and goes well with the rice cake and sauce.
Than the usual order of the potato sausage which is a thumbs up, the balls on the stick was priced $2.80 for 3 which enticed me to take that rather than the latter. However, as it is a snack but nothing of sort to represent Korean street snacks whatsoever, the balls were most likely made of flour and wonder flour to make it quishy, and tasteless with the fried bread crumb layer, the only flavors were made from the hefty amount of squirt from the mayo, chilli and tomato ketchup filling the entire plastic. It\'s only as a mere snack to bite off and serving nothing else to dream off your tongue.
normally i am quite skeptical about korean food because I do not like kimchi but this korean snack store is actually quite nice. i ordered the boneless chicken breast and i thought the staff will just chop it up and serve me immediately, instead they reheat the meat by throwing it back to the hot oil for second round of frying. i did not add any chili powder because i scared it would be too spicy for me and i think i made the right choice because i can taste the natural marinate from the meat. the meat is still tender and surprisingly the batter was not too thick and gross and i actually kind of like it
my girlfriend recommend me this boneless chicken breast thing so i went to order one to try and i think it really taste not too bad. normally chicken breast will tend to be coarse but the meat was still tender and juicy when i ate it. the portion is also quite big so is value for money
My goodness! Their rice cake is really terrible. The sauce is very watery and tasted like a thicker version of kimchi sauce and the small container ($3) is largely filled with cabbage ( not even kimchi). To say it’s cheap, not exactly but to mention the taste, it’s not even worth $3! I tried their fried chicken cutlet too. It cost $3.50 for chicken breast and $3.90 for chicken thigh. Not too bad tasting but i very much prefer the one from shih lin.
Wasn’t too hungry that day so I bought this crispy small chicken in a small bowl.(: The price was quite high though, at $3.50 each.I added the mayonnaise sauce without the chili sauce. I like how the chicken taste but dislike the way the outer is over fried. It was actually partially crispy, but most of it was too hard that it became difficult to chew:/ Considering that the chicken is hard and the price is quite high for a small portion, I may not buy it again.
On one of the day when I decided to have a light dinner, the Dong Dae Mun store just appeared right in front of me and I knew my dinner was settled. I ordered the Korean rice cake. I love it as it is spicy enough to give you the kick. Other than the rice cakes, there were also other ingredients inside which were equally tasty as well. Therefore I would recommend this dish highly if you are looking to settle for a simple meal.
Usually I would only go for their spicy rice cake whenever I am craving for something korean and I just thought I will try the Fried Chicken Cutlet for today instead. I had the thigh meat which was at$3.80 and the breast meat was cheaper. They will deep fried the second time round when you ordered and after that they will asked whether you want any chilli or mayo on it which I had mine plain. The taste was not too bad and it was nice at the first few pieces but after eating half of it, I felt the oilsetting in and felt quite filled up and didn\'t want to eat anymore. Thankfully I had mine without putting the mayo.
My girlfriend bought us the dong dae mun Korean chicken breast. It was really delicious. the batter that they coated the chicken breast was very crunchy. The chicken was very juicy and tender despite being deep fried. The piece of the chicken breast was really large! It is pre deep fried, when you order, they will take a piece from their display counter and re deep fried. However the meat is not dried up, which is a good thing, but I hope they do not pre deep fry the meat first but cooked it only when you order. Nevertheless, it still taste so good. they also have a couple of sauces for you to add to your chicken. The mustard sauce also good well with the chicken.
i was doing my Christmas shopping at vivo. After walking around with my friend, we both got really hungry and we decided to head down to the basement to look for some delicious snack to eat.
I love their chicken sticks. Upon ordering, they will reheat up the meat stick by pressing it on a hotplate with an iron thing. After the sticks are warmed up, they will brush the sticks with korean bbq sauce and optional chilli sauce if you like it hot. The result is nice soft, tasty and fragrant chicken meat sticks.
Korean spicy rice cake $3 per cup The rice cake and fish cake and other ingredients like kimchi are nice, just that the sauce is not that nice, very watery and not enough of flavour. I think the one i cooked using the korean sauce is tastier.. Though it\'s cheap, i will not try next time.
Korea is known for their awesome street food, and it is reciprocated here by Dong Dae Mun, as they sell a wide variety of street snacks, ranging from ddeokbukki (korean spicy rice cakes) to even kimchi fried rice! I\'ve tried this stall many times, and I would say that their food is not fantastic, but it is good I personally like spicy rice cakes, and theirs is extremely spicy honestly, so prepare some cool drinks! Also, I like the tornado potato & potato batter corndog, it\'s oily, yes, but it is pleasurably crunchy! They too sell bulgogi (beef), fried squid, chicken and pork, which I haven\'t tried, but according to one of my friends, she loves it Why not you just take a bite yourself? You\'re bound to find a certain street food snack that you like
The pork meat is juicy and tender and the Korea BBQ sauce they have used to barbeque their meat is sweet and nice. Definitely a great snacks for party and outings. I was so impressed by their food and I would not mind to order again during another special occasion! Two thumbs up!I also liked their Rice Cake and Fried Chicken! Awesome as snacks when you’re shopping around. Haha. Their Rice Cake looks quite spicy, but if you’re one who cant ake too spicy food like me, dont worry! It’s really not that spicy!
Had a nice lunch at Dong Dae Mun. The food is really good! Especially the fried chicken cutlet, as the meat is thick and tender while the skin is crispy. Very appetizing. Their spicy chicken is good too! My mum tried that and she loves it! Will definitely be back again to try out other items!Spending: Approximately SGD 18
I have tried dong dae mun before but not for their crispy chicken. The price was about the same as others. What I am surprised by is that the chicken was very soft and tender, such that when I took a bite, it was so easy to eat, not hard at all! And yet, the outer was still very crispy, and the flavour of the chicken is also nice and delicious;D I really love it and will definitely be back for it, simply awesome(:
A place that sell fried korean style snack ,i went to vivo & amk outlet before Their snack is very big size in stick form ,price is reasonable i tried before their fried chicken cutlet Is very crispy & meat is tender but is abit tasteles, very blend overall i rate 5/10
It was my first time trying eating Korean spicy rice cakes. Previously I only saw this through Korean shows and I always thought they look nice! Now I finally get to try it myself...and I really like it a lot! This one bowl of spicy rice cakes cost $3.00 and there is quite a generous amount of ingredients and rice cakes inside. The spicy sauce is not too spicy and it taste abit sweet and sour. This is really special because I have never eaten something like this before. The rice cakes are chewy and nice! They also sell big sausageof different flavours. I tried the bacon and cheese sausage and it is nice too! Although it may cost abit much, but it is worth it (:
Have ordered bulk BBQ pork sticks for my brother\'s birthday celebration from here. The pork meat is juicy and tender and the Korea BBQ sauce they have used to barbeque their meat is sweet and nice.Definitely a great snacks for party and outings.I was so impressed by their food and I would not mind to order again during another special occasion! Two thumbs up!My verdict: 7.5/10Do also check it out their giant deep fried chicken cutlets as well!Spending: Approximately SGD 2(Other)
I love Korean food alot and the very first time I tried the chicken stick at Dong Dae Mun at Vivo City, I was so addicted to it! I also liked their Rice Cake and Fried Chicken! Awesome as snacks when you’re shopping around. Haha. Their Rice Cake looks quite spicy, but if you’re one who cant ake too spicy food like me, dont worry! It’s really not that spicy! It has additional ingredients like cabbage and fish cake, giving it a unique sweet and spicy taste. Interesting Spending: Approximately SGD 6
Delicious Korean street snacks. Had their bulgogi beef sticks again. Upon ordering, they will heat it up and press it flat with an iron-like thingy. They then brush the stick with a kind of brown sauce and chilli sauce. It is soft, tasty and fragrant. Will try their sausages and fried chicken sticks the next time round. They looked appetizing too!
I used to like this a lot but stopped after encountered certain inconsistence of service level. Bought a stick today, the meat is getting a little smaller in size, but it was still tasty, i like it a little hotter, the BBQ sauce was a little salty. No surprises and no urge of wanting more. Though they put it on a hot pan and heat it a little, but it made almost no difference as it was neither hot nor warm when i bite it. It is selling a stick for $1.00 or 3 sticks for $2.80. Fairly affordable. Would you spend $2.80 for 3 sticks of chicken sticks or $2.50 on a plate of chicken rice?
It was my first time trying Korean beef, even though I have ordered several other items from this stall before. Upon ordering, they will heat up the beef stick and use a iron-like thing to flatten it (I do not know why). You can choose to drizzle it with sauce and chili, and I put both. The sauce is sweet and slightly salty, and the chili is not very spicy. The meat is quite tough, nothing really special. Priced at $1.50 for a stick of 4 beef slices, I probably will not buy this again.
I was slightly hungry and wanted to find some snack before dinner. The sausage looks big and tempting, and as a sausage fan myself, I could not resist giving it a try. I ordered the chicken sausage, and indeed, the sausage is very juicy. The juice oozes out into your mouth when you bite it. The skin is not too tough, as some others are. The meat is seasoned nicely and does not taste oily. The priceof $2.90 for such a big sausage is quite reasonable. There is pork sausage and bacon cheese sausage which looks equally tempting.
This place sells tasty korean snacks and street food mostly served on sticks. Try the fried sausage with fries on it.
I love dong dae mun fried chicken cutlet as it has a crispy texture in it and i love the chilli taste that comes along with it too. People should head over there to have a try.
