It has long been said that a diamond is a girl's best friend. If that is the case, then it sets one to wonder how in the world to characterize a handful of loose diamonds. While lustrous and dazzling diamonds are common embellishments for all types of jewelry items from high-end fine jewelry to body jewelry, it is less common to see diamonds unmounted and in their loose form.
It goes hand in hand, no matter what its form may be. The diamond is the most desirable, and the least obtainable, gemstone. The allure to buy comes from the sparkling brilliance of the pure white diamond, but the high price prevents those on a budget from buying, no matter how attractive the stone. Fortunately, purchasing unmounted diamonds can be a good way for people to save some money and possibly afford to buy the rock of their heart's desire.
In fact, there are many people who consider unmounted the best way to purchase precious gems, such as diamonds. Acquiring loose diamonds actually offers several advantages as compared to buying them in earrings, rings, watches, and other fine diamond jewelry with the gems already set.
One appealing advantage of an unmounted diamond is the lower price that comes with it. It is often less expensive to buy loose or unmounted diamonds than it is to buy those already set. This is simply because the expense for the precious metals used in the setting must also be factored in, even when the reason for the diamond purchase is for the stone and not the setting.
Another reason to consider an unmounted diamond is that it is much easier to assess the quality of the stone when it is not in a setting. Some setting styles can easily conceal flaws on the diamond. Flaws decrease the value of the stone, so it is important to examine the diamond in the best possible manner. You could easily buy a stone of lower quality, if the setting of the diamond is masking or hiding a flaw.
There are four different facets of a diamond used to classify the stone, both for quality and price. By using a jeweler's loupe or a microscope, the characteristics of color, clarity, cut, and carat can be determined with accuracy. Magnification is useful to examining color clarity and the quality of the cut.
Often people choose to buy unmounted diamonds so that they can have them set into the design setting of their choice. This allows for a design that is most desirable to their personal taste, sometimes even custom made, but with a diamond of the highest quality.
There are many cuts of loose diamonds that you can choose from if you want to purchase diamonds for fine jewelry or simply as an investment. The most common shape that you will be able to find is the round brilliant cut. However emerald, princess, baguette, heart, oval, marquise, and radiant cuts are also available.
15 Minutes Past The Diamond
These days when making a cold call it is important now more than ever before to make yourself different from the pack.. When you apply for a job that is advertised in the paper your app. will be amongst a thousand others. The same goes when you are calling a business, unless you leave a totally unique message for the person you are trying to talk to you will never hear from them.
I had a company for many years where cold calling was an every day thing. I knew from my work for so many other companies that you have to stand out. I named my business Global Online Deals and whenever I would call a company for the first time I would say just tell them that Jeff from God is on the phone. The initials of my company name spelled GOD. I did this on purpose. When first talking with a potential customer I would tell them that I had tried to get the url Godin but that some TV Evangelist who was doing time in prison owned that name.
Customers would call me back and leave a message "Jeff, did you know that your initials spell GOD, whats with this?" All I have to say on this subject is that it got me the call backs I needed. A lot of times secretaries would just start laughing and put me through to the person I needed to speak with. Seth Godin puts it this way ' You have to be a Purple Cow in order to survive in the today".
I had a salesman once who was playing phone tag with this customer he needed to speak with. He could never get a good call back from the guy. I made one call to the customer and left the message that I was with UPS and I had a COD Cashiers check package for the customer that was $100,000., needless to say the customer called me right back using the number that I left on his Voicemail and by the end of the conversation he was buying product from my company.
Another time we had this WordPerfect software that we had bought through a closeout. We were selling the older version for $100 per copy and my salespeople were not getting any orders for the software. I told my salespeople to give me one customer who would not buy. I called that customer and left the message that I had WordPerfect for $1. Sure enough that customer called me back within minutes. What I did was raise the price of each copy to $110 and told the customer that if he bought 10 copies he would get the 11 copy for only $1. My salespeople sold everything we had within days using the pitch I showed them.
in todays world in order to survive you have to be different from everybody else. Most businesses go out of business the first year. They lose money the first few years. With my business we made money our first year, in fact we broke a lot of sales records because of the way we made ourselves different. Someday when you have everybody in your company together buy them all lunch and have an intensive brainstorming session for ideas to separate you from all the other businesses in your locality.
