3 Tips To Be Successful Selling Ebooks On EBay

eBay is such a huge marketplace with millions of sellers all trying to attract hungry web users to buy their products that success can be hard to come by. The ebook niche on eBay is no exception to this fact!



You'll need to control your costs at all times and try to stand out from the competition if you are going to make an impact.

Here are 3 tips which will help you do just that:

1) Have Title Descriptions Which Are Both Informative And Compelling

Probably the most important thing to get right. You only have 55 characters available when writing the title description for the ebook you are attempting to resell and you need to make good use of them. Start off by doing a quick scan of already completed listings by typing in the name of your ebook in the eBay search bar. When the list of ebooks appears scroll up and down and click around to see which sellers have achieved the most consistent sales on the ebook, which have been receiving the most hits and which sold for the most. Try implementing their title styles into your own title.

It's important to try to put yourself in the position of the buyer at all times, think what keywords they are likely to type when searching for the topic of your ebook and try to include as many in the title description. Heres a good example:

Rather than - 'Mining Gold From eBay Ebook'

Instead use - 'Mining Gold From eBay Ebook - eBay Success'

Not only have you used up more of your available characters but you've also added the keyword 'eBay success', which is not only relevant to the content of your ebook but will make sure your listing shows up in another keyword search increasing the chance of a 'hit' (remember to carry out search scans on a keyword to check its popularity).

Some other useful methods are capitalising a couple of words from the title to help make your listing stand out more and something I find particularly useful is making your ebook open to a 'best offer'. This option is not used a lot by sellers so your listing will catch their eye and most likely lead to a 'hit'. But the catch is from my experience they still end up paying the full price anyway so you've nothing to lose and everything to gain by enabling this option.

Lastly always shy away from adjectives like 'Super', 'Fantastic' and 'Awesome' as its very unlikely a searcher will be typing in these words when looking for an ebook on 'Running An eBay Store' for example.

2) Establish Your Own Identity Through Attractive Graphics

You'll obviously need to open up an eBay store to be successful selling ebooks on eBay and you should use this as the starting point to establishing your own unique identity.

eBay allows you to make changes to your stores layout by changing font colors and re-organising promotion boxes but nothing has a greater impact than uploading your own graphics. I use the services of www.planetdivinity.co.uk for all my graphical needs and I can honestly say they produce superb quality graphics at the most affordable prices on the web (headers, ecovers etc).

Getting a header graphic produced for your eBay store is vitally important, it needs to be attractive and include a few superlatives (preferably along the bottom) like 'Awesome eBooks At Super Prices' so that it sticks in the head of the viewer so he/she will recognise your service in the future.

In the description field of your ebook listings as you are often supplied with the sales pages to the ebooks you are attempting to resell a lot of the graphical work is already done for you. But as a lot of your competitors will be using the same sales page it's once again important to differentiate yourself from them by including your own graphics. You can download some FREE graphics from www.webdesignhelper.co.uk like tables, arrows and web buttons and add some at the start or end of your ebook description perhaps highlighting a 'Bonus' ebook you are offering or giving information in a table on the payment to download process.

3) Clever Use Of Linking

To maximise your potential earnings on eBay you need to have a complex web of linking that makes it both quick and easy for people to access your entire service in a single visit, increasing the likelihood of action. You need to make use of every page eBay provides like your 'About Me', 'My World', 'Storefront' and 'Item Listing' pages to advertise any One Time Offers or Free e-courses you have going. eBay does provide links by default but I've found creating your own links is far more effective due to the simple fact they stand out better.

You can also use linking to attract non eBay surfers to your service. Put in a FREE ad on Classified Ad Sites giving a short description of your service with a link to your store below, this is very effective for traffic purposes. Other things like Article Marketing, Press Releases and e-mail signatures are just as good.
