Looking younger is the constant goal for many of us ladies - and for many of you men out there. Smooth, glowing, healthy skin looks more attractive and makes us feel great.
For many of us, as we get older, this takes a little work and the application of anti-aging products that give nature and our own natural beauty a little help in the right direction.
The major problem is to find the products that work and which are, to be blunt, a complete and total waste of time. What anti-aging products should we use without simply spending 100's and even 1000's of dollars on useless trials? We can not trust the media and cosmetic companies to tell us the truth can we!
What we can do is to take a close look at the ingredients that we know are beneficial for the anti-aging process and have a positive influence on our skin care regime. And just as importantly, we can look at what they do not contain.
My very first recommendation is that any products we use should be mineral oil free. Mineral oil, a petroleum based product, has been used for decades as a skin hydrating agent. While this sounds like a good thikng for the skin, in fact it is not.
Mineral oil has the ability to clog the skin to keep in water - and as we all know - clogging of the skin is a bad thing that can cause acne. It is widely used for basically s single reason - it is very cheap to extract. I don't recommend its use and I don't recommend any of the low price products that contain it.
In place of mineral oil we should be using products that have naturally occurring moisturizers such as jojoba, almond, wheat germ as these do not clog the skin and therefore let out those nasty little free-radical agents.
Also, niacin, the vitamin B complex, have been clinically proven to be an effective moisturizing and anti-aging substance. This actually restores skin cells. Seeing this ingredient, you know the product will have the right effect on your skin.
A PH balanced skin care program is essential. It does not matter what type of skin you have, anything other then a PH balanced program and must be avoided. Your products must also be hypo-allergenic and formulated without the use of dyes and chemical fragrances.
And finally, you will not find everything in just one product. Reducing the effects of aging and keeping your skin in tip-top condition will take several products. There is just no one single product that does it all (don't we wish that were not true). Make sure you use a proven system of skin care with products that match and complement each other. This is the way to get the skin you want and deserve.
