A Message From Rainbow Bridge

    View:
It used to be that, when you suffered a pet loss, the only choice you had was to bury your beloved pet in your back yard. This may be nice on one hand, because you can be close to your pet, but on the other hand, it may be harder to get over your pet's death, because there will always be a visible reminder right outside your door.

Then pet loss became big business. Companies started selling urns for people that cremated their beloved pets, so that they could choose to keep the pet close to them. Other companies volunteered to take the ash and put it into a diamond, and still other companies started cryogenically freezing pets so that the owners could have them in their homes, looking lifelike.

All this means is that big business has caught on with the fact that pets mean a great deal to their owners. We all love our pets, and miss them dearly when they are gone. After all, how many people don't judge you, but love you unconditionally no matter who you are? Some animals even sense when their owner is ill and do everything they can to comfort them.

One of the few things that does help to ease the pain is to talk about your pet. Talking about your pet with others who understand your loss helps you to work through the grief and remember all the wonderful things your pet did. Sometimes it's hard to find people that you know in real life to talk to.

People that do not have animals often find it difficult to comfort someone who experienced a pet loss.. They find that they do not know what to say, or how to act, and may find themselves thinking, "Jeez, it's just a pet."

Pet loss is as difficult to handle as any death. Just because the loss is of a four legged member of your family doesn't make it any easier. People handle pet death in different ways, and you need to find the way that works for you. One helpful way is to read the book, "A Message From Rainbow Bridge". It helps people with pet loss to find a way to grieve for their loved one, yet still move on with life, as our pets would want us to.
