Accommodation In Blackpool

    View:
With so much to do in Blackpool, visitors will certainly need enough time to do it all. That usually means staying in town for an extra day or even an extra week. Fortunately, Blackpool has so much to offer in terms of accommodation, whether your budget is for something lavish, something inexpensive or something in between.

Since you will probably be visiting Blackpool with someone special, allow us to recommend some of the swankiest hotels in Blackpool where you can sit back, relax and indulge in the lap of luxury.

On the exclusive North Promenade near Blackpool Tower and Grand Theatre, you will find the Imperial Hotel, an ideal base from where you can sample Blackpool's myriad attractions. The Hotel has 173 en suite bedrooms and 10 exquisite and elegantly furnished suites. The hotel's health and leisure club boasts of a gym, sauna, spa bath, steam room, solarium and swimming pool.

North Promenade also hosts Blackpool's Hilton, the local partners of the global hotel chain. The rooms here are beautiful and feature en suite bathroom, telephone, satellite TV, hair dryer and tea and coffee making facilities. The hotel also offers family rooms, function rooms and stylish suites that offer a spectacular seafront view. The Hilton has its own restaurant and cocktail bar, a sauna and steam room, an indoor heated swimming pool and a nightclub. Parking at the hotel car park is free.

The Savoy Hotel is an architectural wonder on Queens Promenade that has 130 en suite bedrooms and suites. The Savoy hosts the classy Gilbert's Bistro, which is renowned for its continental dishes and traditional cuisine.

The New Clifton Hotel, located on Talbot Square in central Blackpool, is a historic and Grade II listed building that has been restored to its former grandeur. It features en suite bedrooms equipped with a telephone, TV, hairdryer, trouser press and tea and coffee making facilities. Guests enjoy lounging at Finn's Cafe, the Cocktail Bar or the traditional Clifton Arms Bar.

For a romantic retreat amid idyllic surroundings and away from the hustle and bustle of the seafront, there are several country retreats and rural hotels that are not that far from the town proper.

The Grand Hotel on South Promenade is only about 20 minutes away from central Blackpool. It sits on its own grounds and offers a breath-taking view of the coastline. This fine Victorian Hotel has 53 elegant en suite bedrooms and is known for its excellent service to guests. There are facilities for fine dining at the in-house Bay Restaurant, which is renowned for its wide array of modern English cuisine and its serene setting. The Grand Hotel recently inaugurated its leisure club, which boasts of an indoor heated swimming pool, jacuzzi, sun shower, fully equipped gym and poolside bar and al fresco restaurant.

The family-run Glendower Hotel at St Anne's on Sea is a mere 10-minute drive away from Blackpool. This magnificent 19th century structure that occupies one of the prime positions along the Fylde Coast near the beach. The hotel was refurbished recently to upgrade their rooms, which include family rooms, four-poster rooms and rooms that have a spectacular view of the sea. The Glendower Hotel restaurant serves a broad array of different cuisine while the New Waves leisure suite offers guests a heated pool and sauna as well as a poolside game room and coffee lounge.

The De Vere Herons? Reach Hotel is a bit out of town but offers enough amenities to make the trip more than worth your while, including its very own 18-hole golf course and a floodlit driving range with 18 bays. It also has a sauna and spa bath, steam room and swimming pool. A short 10-minute drive from the beach, the Reach Hotel sits on 236 acres of sprawling coast countryside and boasts of some of the most luxurious accommodations around. The De Vere Herons? Reach Hotel is regarded by many as the most stylish hotel in Blackpool.

Among Blackpool's other historic country retreats of note are the Mains Hall Country House Hotel, which was founded in 1536 and has rich connections to royalty, and the Tudor-style Brabyns Hotel, which is about a mile away from the seafront.

If you're looking for a guest house with that distinct "home away from home" feel, then Blackpool will not disappoint as the place is practically bursting with them. There are so many of them that you can count on finding a handful of guest houses wherever you are in Blackpool, whether on the North Shore, Central Shore or South Shore.

On the North Shore, the Rubens Hotel on Lord Street or the Grampians House on Pleasant Street are excellent choices. They are both near the Grand Theatre and the Blackpool Tower, Winter Garden and town centre are just a short walk away. The Rubens features en suite bedrooms with a telephone, color TV and tea and coffee making facilities. They also have double, twin and triple bedrooms. The Grampians also has en suite bedrooms, color TV, central heating and a complimentary refreshment tray.
