Pregnancy can be a very difficult time for some women. The side effects of pregnancy do not affect every woman the same way. Some may suffer severe morning sickness, and others many not experience at all. Some women enjoy every moment of their pregnancy, while others can't wait to be done. Pregnancy is different for every woman. One person may even have a different experience each time they are pregnant.
Another area that causes women problems while being pregnant is acne. Acne can become a problem during pregnancy due to the hormone levels in your body. You may have never had problems with acne before, but you may now. It doesn't matter when or if you ever had acne before, it can become a problem now. You may only suffer from acne for part of your pregnancy, or you may suffer from it the whole pregnancy. It all depends on each individual how long you suffer, or if you suffer at all. Just because you have problems with acne during your first pregnancy doesn't mean you will with your next and vise versa.
One thing that is especially frustrating about this is that you may have a hard time finding a solution to your acne. Not all acne treatments are safe to use when you are pregnant. Some treatments can cause birth defects in the baby. This is mostly seen with medication that is ingested. The next problem with these treatments is that it helps prevent the bacteria that causes acne. When you have acne during pregnancy it is from hormonal changes not from bacteria.
Most face wash is safe to use when you are pregnant. There is one ingredient in face wash that you may want to steer clear of and that is glycolic acid. Some studies say that there is no problems linked with using face wash with this ingredient during pregnancy and any problems with the baby. It is up to each individual whether or not they want to use a face wash with this ingredient. You may want to talk to your doctor and see if he has any advice on the matter. You can never be too safe when it comes to your baby.
Most women choose to use a mild soap to keep their skin clean and try to clear their acne as best they can. Keep in mind that the acne will most likely go away a few weeks after the baby is born; it is not a permanent problem in most cases. Just remember that the acne is usually caused by the different hormone levels your body is experiencing, and once they are back to normal your acne should clear right up.
Acne During Pregnancy Treatment
Another important reason is the continuing changes in hydration in your body. The lack of the amount of necessary water makes the hormone secretions remain undiluted and they will not pass through the body so quickly.
When does acne typically develop?
Acne typically during the first trimester (first three months) when hormone levels are continually changing. Still, it is possible for breakouts to appear any time during pregnancy, or after pregnancy.
Will my acne go away?
By the time your pregnancy progresses, your acne usually improves, this phenomenon happens because of higher levels of estrogen. After the first three months, progesterone is produced by the placenta instead of the ovaries.
Usually, for some women, the skin can become normal again a few months after they have their child. Still, for others, the breakouts can reappear after having their baby because of a sudden decline in the production of estrogen. Anyway, there are cases when acne disappear after a few months, and other cases when it may not. Every person is different.
What type of acne will I get?
Normally, women develop cysts acne, pustules and blackheads. But body acne can also appear.
Will my baby develop acne if I develop it during pregnancy?
No. It wasn’t found a connection between growing acne during pregnancy and your infant having baby acne. Neither is there a connection between pregnancy acne and children developing acne at any stage in life.
Is there any way I can prevent acne during pregnancy?
No. There is no way you can predict it and prevent it. In the majority of cases, the skin clears up after the first three months, or after giving birth. Meanwhile, there are products you can use in order to take care of your skin in the most safe way.
When should I seek acne treatment help?
Acne treatment help must be sought before you decide buying any acne treatment, because your acne at this time is determined by hormonal changes.
