It is important to control anger as creating a tantrum will only cause a lot more problem. Anger is something that develops as we grow into adults. Even if we grew up in a normal environment, our parents may have played a part in exaggerating the normal growing process. This will in turn affects our developing process and it could also have negative effects on our coping skills. A good example of this is when children are more often punished than complimented for their behavior. The consequence of this is that a child will grow up penalizing themselves whenever he or she makes mistakes.
One must learn to look as mistakes as something that will not linger in our lives forever unless is a very serious one. The best thing to do is to review that mistake and learn from it. Positive thinking will allow you to have better control over anger what with the emotional vulnerability you are experiencing. You can turn around the way you look at anger when you view it as a positive force. Anger in turn will develop into a negative force when it is channeled improperly so it is either you control your anger or it will control you.
People who lack control will be easily frustrated. This is why control is one of the most important things one should have. An excellent coping technique is to have a self-talk session with oneself. You only need around 15 minutes in a day to review your thoughts and talk it though with yourself. When you are overcome by a series of negative thought such as thinking of yourself as a failure, you should assess this feeling and ask yourself why you think of yourself that way. You should not neglect the good things you do everyday too and praise yourself for them. You must also remember it is natural to make mistakes and there is probably no bad outcome of that mistake either.
You should start reviewing daily if you find yourself easily infuriated and think about the consequences of getting into a tantrum like throwing things, shouting and screaming. You should reflect on the aftermath like cleaning up the mess after you break and throw thing and how it will waste your time in the end when you do the clean up. Think about the cost of things that you have to replace if you broke something expensive. This will not resolve anything but it will waste your time, money and energy. If you yell and scream you will find that you will only damage your health in the end. All the screaming and yelling will not do you heart, nerve, mind and body any justice. If you feel angered, try take a few short breath, not only will it help you to relax you will see that there is no need to be so angry anyway.
On the other hand, if there is justifiable cause for your anger you might want to slow down think for a few minutes and find a way to stress your emotions without interrupting your body, mind and health. If you think about a person that throws honey instead of fueling the fire often gets further than those that blow up out of anger. If you are obsessively running through each day without slowing down then you need a coping strategy to help you deal with the stress.
Try to fit in some time for yourself in your schedule. When you pamper yourself, you are actually on the road to coping with anger. If you find your day filled with jobs to do, try list down what need to be settled first. Do not delay doing the tasks but try finishing them one at a time. You are a human being not a superman or woman.
One more strategy you should incorporate is to remind yourself that nothing is permanent. You will face failure if you think that you will fail. Hoping for something to happen and finding that it didn't happen will set you on stress. Taking things one day at a time is by far the best solution and training your mind to adjust to this daily will give you positive effect in coping with anger.
