Whenever we first recognize the effects of aging in ourselves, the first thing that many of us do is run to the drugstore in order to find a cure. The fact of the matter is, the drugstore shelves are lined with things which claim to help us to take some years off of our life. Although these things are readily available, and in many cases approved by the authorities, there is some doubt about their effectiveness. Here are some of the different antiaging products that are on the market, some that work and some that don't.
The first thing that we're going to take a look at are some of the pharmaceutical methods of antiaging. First of all, I should let you know that I am not a proponent of pharmaceutical products at all. As a matter of fact, I always think that doing something naturally is going to give you much better results than doing so with a pill or a shot. For example, if you wanted to straighten out the lines on your face, you could go have an injection of botulism under your skin, usually known as Botox. Yes, it will work to smooth out your face to a certain extent but why would you want to submit your body to that? It would be a much better idea for you to find something that will naturally build up the collagen in your skin in order to help you to overcome the wrinkles.
There are some natural antiaging products which claim to do wonders for peeling away the years. Some of these to work to a certain extent but you should be aware that once you start using them, you must continue to use them indefinitely in order for the results to stick around. Some of these can get quite expensive so it is really just a matter of where your priorities are. If you're able to afford the product and like what it does for you, it certainly would be worth the money and the effort that you have to put into it. That is, of course, as long as it is an all natural product.
Believe it or not, you may have one of the best natural antiaging products right in your own household. As a matter of fact, it tends to be all around us but very few of us take the time and effort necessary to obtain it. What I'm talking about is water. A lot of us age poorly because we allow our bodies to be dehydrated throughout our entire life. In order to reverse the process to a certain extent, you need to get your body hydrated and keep it hydrated regularly. Make it a point to drink half of your body weight, converted to ounces of water on a daily basis. Simply break it up into six to eight different glasses daily and it is easy to do. You would be surprised with how much this simple yet natural product is able to do for you.
Anti Aging Products Work
Everyone's seen those antiaging skin care products on the shelves, and most of us have tried them from time to time for wrinkle reduction and correction of those other pernicious signs that we're getting older. They've been called a surgeon in a jar. But do they work for wrinkle reduction or, for that matter, do they do anything for your skin at all? Should you start using antiaging skin care products?
Firstly you should understand one thing. The antiaging skin care industry is huge, worth many billions of dollars. That should alert you to something right from the start. There's big bucks to be made in anti aging and beauty products like face creams, skin rejuvenation products, topical skin products, facial applications, sensitive skin treatments, dry skin treatments, oily skin treatments, special skin therapies, aging skin ph balancing and so on, and on, and on.
Where there's big bucks to be made there's plenty of opportunities for companies to market products that don't do what they're supposed to do. The motivation is high to sell, regardless of the efficacy of the product. Because the rewards are huge.
The next thing to understand is that the FDA doesn't require the antiaging skin care companies to demonstrate that a product is effective before it is marketed. So a completely useless antiaging wrinkle cream for wrinkle reduction, for example, can be put on the market despite the fact that it really does nothing at all for wrinkle correction.
And all sorts of claims can be made about it regardless of whether these claims can be supported by any evidence.
But it gets worse. The FDA also does not require the anti-aging skin care companies to demonstrate that their skin care products are even safe for human use. And so there are many skin care and anti-aging products on the market that contain ingredients that at best don't do much at all and at worst are actually dangerous, and some are even suspected of causing or known to cause cancer. And this includes cosmetics.
For example, a recent test of big brand name lipsticks found lead in over 50% of them. Scary isn't it?
So the question of whether the anti aging skin care products work isn't the most important question. The first, and most important question is, are they safe? Does that "surgeon in a jar" actually create a health risk for the person using it?
However as a general rule many of those antiaging skin care products you see sitting on the shelves do very little. Even if they contain potentially useful ingredients they are often present in such small quantities that there isn't enough of the ingredient in there to do much. Because beneficial ingredients are expensive, so as little as possible goes in. Just enough to be able to list it on the label to help sell the product.
However despite this, there is some good news. Yes there are big brand name antiaging skin care products that contain nasty ingredients. And yes, you should be careful of starting using that "surgeon in a jar" on your skin. However that warning applies to many of the big brand name products. There are other, small, niche skin care companies making skin care products that are made up of naturally occurring ingredients that are proven safe, proven effective, and offer no risks to the person using the product.
One company in particular produces extremely high quality antiaging skin care products that are highly effective, safe enough to eat and are actually quite cost competitive to the big brand names. If you're looking for total facial rejuvenation you might be disappointed, but if you're looking for products that really do have an effect on wrinkle reduction, for example, then there are excellent products available.
However you won't, most likely, have heard of the company. It's small, has a limited advertising budget, and sells it's products direct to consumers to keep the price down. And it even offers a money back guarantee on the effectiveness of it's products. Try getting that from the big brand names. So if you're serious about finding a genuine anti-aging wrinkle cream there are solutions.
However this company is extremely hard to find because it doesn't even try to compete with the big brands, it can't. So it allows it's products to do the talking, and happy customers to keep coming back for more, and passing the word to their friends.
