Not to be confused with New York's Apollo, Chicago's Apollo Theater was built by Jason Brett and Stuart Oken and first opened its doors to the public in 1978. Formerly, there was a theater with the same name on Randolph Street in Chicago that closed in 1987 and was subsequently demolished in 1989. Today, the Apollo Theater is located at 2540 N.
