Am I preparing you for another career choice? Rather the contrary. The point is to understand that if your first thought is the dollar it won't make a lot of sense. When you are writing a book, an article, a blog post, etc. why not create the content based on your knowledge of the topic and the passion you hold and not put words into print that are nothing more than a gateway to mediocrity, with the hope that it will turn into a few dollars in your pocket.



Perfecting a craft will not only give you the feeling of accomplishment but gain respect from the peers and readers because you are true to yourself and not putting out something with your name on it to capitalize on the latest internet craze or celebrity break-down.

When you articulate words from the heart they reach unlimited miles. If you are writing with the hope that the masses will see your finished product subconsciously you are altering your thought patterns and knowledge base to be part of the hype but no substance club.

If you can't look yourself in the mirror and feel fulfilled by your accomplishments it will be a tall order to convince a stranger to believe in your published works.

If you stick to what you know and what you live for the finished product will actually be easier to ascertain. This path enables you to follow your natural instincts and thought process without altering the course to fruition.

It's not difficult to be mediocre and to simply find the finish line. Why not give yourself greater credit? If you are holding a key to unlocking a message that could interest others, maybe change their lives, put a smile on a face, give direction and purpose you owe it to yourself and those that would benefit to deliver the words.

I would never tell a writer to turn down income for survival. There are times you may be handed an assignment that can generate good income but is more for a supermarket rag sheet than a serious reader. If the short road is the exception and not the rule you are already on the proper trail to harnessing your talent and using it for the good of others.

Being rich in the heart can feel more superlative than a few extra dollars in the pocket.
