The nation's largest gun training school, Front Sight Firearms Training Institute, is opposed to gun control - what a surprise. But Front Sight isn't just the nation's largest gun training school, Front Sight actually delivers firearms training to more students every year than every other major gun training school in America combined. With a student base (which regularly reads and responds to the newsletters written by the founder and director, Ignatius Piazza) in the tens of thousands and with its numbers growing by the day, Front Sight is more than just an opponent of gun control, Front Sight is the largest opponent in America to gun control. And thank God that a gun training school as responsible, ethical and well-run as Front Sight and a man as motivated and skilled as Ignatius Piazza are behind the largest force in America fighting the idiocy which is gun control.



Perhaps "idiocy" is a bit too harsh to describe the motivation for people who really just want to keep others safe. Perhaps. Though that does bring a very important aspect of the argument of gun control versus gun training (pro-law vs. pro-choice?): the people who advocate gun control are, for the most part, people who merely want innocent men and women who walk the streets to be safe from criminals with illegal firearms and the people who are opposed to gun control are, for the most part, people who want the same thing: safety for everyone. The difference lies in the fact that men like Ignatius Piazza and organizations like Front Sight realize that safety from guns can never come from restricting ownership of guns.

For Front Sight and Ignatius Piazza, nothing should ever stand in the way of a man or a woman being able to defend himself or herself against an assailant: every citizen of the United States should be allowed to possess whatever weapon would work most effectively against any potential attacker. And to think that any potential attacker may not be armed with a firearm is a ridiculous, dangerous idea. True, if gun control laws were passed universally, it would be much more difficult for criminals to get weapons. Though it was be impossible for law-abiding citizens (targets of criminals) to get weapons and thereby protect themselves.

Ignatius Piazza and Front Sight point out that gun control won't stop gun violence. But there is something that does work: gun training. Opponents immediately say that of course the nation's largest firearms training school would say that gun training is the way to solve gun violence, but the case is quite simple. Criminals will own firearms regardless of what laws are passed, this is entirely impossible to refute. If law-abiding citizens receive gun training, then those citizens could defend themselves against criminals. What's more, the citizens could defend themselves better than the criminals could attack them - that's the beauty of firearms training: it empowers.

Gun training is not a dangerous thing. Firearms training can only make America safer. Gun control will lead cities, counties, states and our fair nation down the drain. Front Sight and Ignatius Piazza stand on the side of reason: gun ownership.
