A few weeks ago I placed a small ad in a national magazine promoting my website on making money online. I received 1 order. Stumped? Well, yeah. A month later a submitted an article to the very same magazine and guess what? Yep hundreds of sales followed. Why you ask? The answer is simple. Think of how you feel when you read an advertisement. You think somebody is selling something right? Of course they are! Maybe it's something you want, maybe its not. However when you are reading an article in a publication, it appears that the publication itself is actually endorsing your website therefore providing you with instant credibility. Let's explore the 9 steps to successful article marketing that when implemented can make you very successful making money online.



1- Identify the publication most suitable for your article. If you are writing about making money online, these may include Entrepreneur or Inc magazines. A simple Google search can help you here.

2- Review the magazine and read the articles already there. Are they funny? Are they serious? Mimicking the tone of previous articles increases the likelihood that they will print yours.

3- Review the content of many similar publications. This will give you an indication of what people are interested in reading about. If you are writing about making money online, then cater to those publications only.

4- Write! Don't be afraid. Remember your high school English class? Decide on a topic, write an introductory paragraph and outline the points you wish to make in the remainder of the article. Remember your closing paragraph should be a synopsis of the entire article.
