Authorization Medical Treatment Minor

    View:
Till the current day, the world of conventional treatment has failed miserably to come with any satisfactory method of dealing with tinnitus. This is particularly serious when viewed with the fact that, more than 40 million people in the US alone suffer from the tinnitus, and hear the disturbing, inexplicable noises associated with the disease continuously, for days, for months and even, in cases, for years. No effective relief is available. These sounds of tinnitus tend to vary over a wide range, and can range from peculiar whooshing or hissing noises to tedious ringing sounds at low decibels. The resultant racket caused is potent enough to drive a person crazy, totally out of his/her senses. It is hard to justify why there are no satisfactory medications available, but the fact remains so. In all probability, the world of medicine, represented by the big corporate pharmaceutical houses is more concerned to earn sizeable profits from the medicines that they manufacture, and are not quite alarmed by tinnitus problems. Tinnitus is by nature, not a life-threatening ailment, and as such, it is perhaps not accorded due importance. When we look at what the conventional modes of tinnitus treatment has to offer, we feel hard-pressed to find even a single satisfactory answer.

Over-the-counter (OTC) drugs are however sold in bottles (that are sealed hermetically), or in cartons. However, just like other anti-allergic medicines or anti-depression drugs, they come with sizeable side effects. In fact, these side effects can assume such enormity of proportion that they have to be actually dealt with first, before tinnitus can be treated. This can also take away the mental stability of the affected person. Thus, it is advisable to stay away from them.

Treatment Modes For Tinnitus – The Conventional Way

The distresses that the tinnitus disease brings about are acute. Driven by the sheer agony of this, many patients feel forced to take up medications that are not expected to provide any permanent solution. Lidocaine Infusion Therapy is one such short-term tinnitus treatment. Under this method, a mild dose of lidocaine is introduced into the body through intravenous (IV) injections. However, the relief that this treatment brings does not stay for long – it depends on the basic body system of the person. In general, the beneficial effects can last for two minutes, or can extend for two hours, but never more than that. On top of that, this procedure is expensive as well, and cannot be administered to everyone. If tinnitus has been caused by a tumor that has formed in the middle ear, or any other such external cause, lidocaine cannot be used. A genetically inherited resistance to lidocaine treatment can also make this ineffective. In addition, if tinnitus patients have blockages in the sinoarterial regions or in the cardiac organ (of the 2nd degree or the 3rd degree), and do not use a pacemaker, it cannot be treated by lidocaine infusion.

Adjustments in the osteopathic systems or the chiropractic structures of the affected individuals also are used as part of the treatment. This involves the realignment of the patient's spine. In certain rare cases, the spine can be placed in a wrong position, heralding the initiation of tinnitus issues. When the spine is placed back in its proper position, the problems can thus be rectified.

In many countries of the East, acupuncture techniques are often used as a remedy against tinnitus. Although the West is yet to recognize the benefits of these techniques, acupuncture has already been proved to be effective in curing tinnitus in countries like China. The actual method entails the selection of certain suitable spots on the body, and the placement of some needles on those spots. High hopes are associated with the probable results of acupuncture treatments, if and when they are applied in the West.

Medical Treatment For Tinnitus: Opt For The Best Course

The holistic modes of tinnitus treatment are the most effective in curing a person from these problems. As can be expected, these treatment methods involve the adoption of a rigorous way of living, with practice of yoga and other exercises (of Vedic origins) strongly recommended, and the regular consumption of foods like vegetables, edibles of an organic nature, and fruits being a must. Those affected by tinnitus are strongly warned against the consumption of all forms of alcohol. Eating meat or other food products made from meat, or smoking is also a strict no-no. Only if all these recommendations are followed, will the person be able to get prepared to deal with the three chief reasons that usher in tinnitus, which is:

Blockades in the sinus,

Exposure to too much stress and anxiousness, and

Factors related to the nerves of the inner parts (Cochlear) of the ear, in the middle.

Medical experts from the holistic schools of thinking are of the opinion that, once the first two reasons have been effectively dealt with, the nerve endings of the affected person recapture to the original sizes and structures. The third factor, which deals with precisely these issues, is hence, automatically solved. No longer are erratic signals received by the brain from the nerves. In turn, that would mean, no weird sounds reach the ear drums from the brain cells either.

All of the several primary causes are detected in the holistic treatment regimes, along with the multiple trigger factors. The body of the affected person is treated as a single whole structure for this, and once the causes of tinnitus have been identified, remedies are suggested accordingly. On the contrary, only the symptoms of the ailment are treated by the conventional mode of treatment. Since the basic causes of the condition remain within the body, tinnitus problems can relapse in such cases. Thus, there is no scope of doubt that holistic treatments are indeed far better than conventional methods.

It's hard not to be keenly aware that health care costs have skyrocketed - a week's stay in the hospital for a few tests and treatment WITHOUT ANY PROCEDURES can cost $15,000 or more![1] So, it's not surprising that an increasing number of people who need or want real treatment are looking elsewhere for a solution.

Where do they go? To places like India, Thailand, Panama, and Argentina. These countries have strongly emerging economies, and have correspondingly made significant investnment in their medical capabilities. That translates to quality care - second to none - at reasonable cost.

"Medical Tourism", the name for the new practice of going overseas to receive medical treatment and perhaps get a bit of travel in on the side, is becoming a very popular option, for many.

It can make a lot of sense. Laparascopic, prostate, hernia repair, gastric banding, dental implantation, and other treatments can cost far less in say, India, than in the US - a tenth to a fifth as much. There is no delay in diagnostics and treatment, either. Diagnostics and tests are done in the same facility, the prognosis and treatment follow, immediately. Billing is easy, too - just a matter of presenting a credit card for the final bill, often determined by an up-front quote.

Of course, medical care is only as good as the doctors that perform it. There is excellent news on this front, as well. Doctors in India (again) are very active in the international medical community. Go to any major facility in the US, and you're likely to see a large number of Indian doctors on the staff. Likewise, many Indian doctors are US trained. Doctors are constantly engaged in improving their skills, and in imparting those skills to others in the international medical community.

And, of course, the fact that you are in an exotic place, only adds to the enticement. The "tourism" aspect is a terrific adjunct - why not recover seeing the Taj Mahal, or Qtub Minar, or on the beaches of Goa? Why not, indeed. Facilities typically have arrangements to help you explore your new-found destination.

Medical treatment overseas may be just the ticket you're looking for - if you don't have health insurance or your insurance has determined that a wanted procedure is 'elective', or there are other impediments to your getting the treatment you want, it can be very much worth your while to investigate your "Medical Tourism" options.

As always, you should investigate your options and requirements as they apply to your situation. One place to do this is by participating in a forum we have set up for just such a purpose (see link in resource box.) The forum is free to all, you just need to join to participate. Treatment overseas adds one more choice to your set of options - an option that can greatly reduce costs, and give you the opportunity to explore another part of the world, while you're at it!
