Baby Shower Unscramble Game

    View:
After you've received the majority of your guests' RSVPs, planned a lavish menu, and set the theme for decorations for your baby event, what's a super hostess to do next? Why, think about the entertainment, of course! Many of your guests won't know each other, so as the host, it's your duty to find ways to get everyone introduced and mingling.

A foolproof way to get everyone mingling and interacting at your event is with games. Baby shower games give everyone an excuse to let guard down, get silly, and at the same time, they focus the attention on the guest of honor and her soon-to-be born baby. Here are a few great games to get you started:

Tummy Girth Game

Pass out some ribbon or string. Try to tie in the color with your theme or go with the standards: pink, blue, yellow, or green. Have each guest cut their string to the length they think will match the girth of the pregnant mom's tummy right now. After all the guests are done, have the guest of honor wrap each string around her stomach at the biggest part. The guest whose string comes closest to the mom's actual size without going over wins!

Pin The Pacifier On The Baby Shower Game

Love "Pin the Tail on the Donkey"? So do I! Apparently, a lot of people do because this game is a hit at all the baby showers I've been to. It's pretty self-explanatory, yeah? Just use a pacifier, a picture of a baby on the wall, and try to have the blindfolded guest pin the "passy" to the baby's mouth. Closest one wins!

Dress the Baby

This game can get expensive if the host has to provide a doll for every guest, so ask the guests to bring their own and save some dough! Well... a doll, as well as a receiving blanket, a onesie, and a diaper. Have the guests randomly exchange their baby gear with another guest. Then, with a timer, time each guest trying to dress their baby. This is a fun one that really builds anticipation and excitement with its race against the clock. Watch out for competitive juices flowing in full force with this game!

Baby Shower Game Fave: Guess the Baby's Gear

Have a large bag of baby items placed in front of the blind-folded guest of honor. Have her take each item out one at a time and guess what she has in her hands. The more unique and wacky items you choose to put in the bag, the more fun this game gets!

Return to Childhood Game: The Bottle Race

Come on. Who's not going to break the ice once they see a roomful of guests sucking on a baby bottle? You will. I will. We all will. It's like a law of nature. Just make sure you have enough bottles and nipples for everyone to participate. Have a pre-determined time limit, say 3 minutes. Everyone starts at the same time. No heats. See who can such the liquid out of the bottle fastest! This isn't as easy as it sounds when you're trying to keep from laughing at the site of grown adults feeding from a bottle!

These baby shower games should be enough get the ball rolling or inspire you to create some of your own. Have a great baby shower game you'd like for us to include on this list? Send it in!
Baby Shower Unscramble Game
You don't have to be at a loose end when it comes to providing entertainment for the guest invites attending the baby shower party. One of the best options for additional fun is to play games.

Have your friends and family join in The Name Game

The start of this game is where you ask the players to write down two names for the baby then ask them to find as many words they can from their chosen names, the winner will be the player with the most names. Be sure to mention before play that words with less than three letters are not valid.

To make the name game even more exciting ask the guests to keep the names they chose a secret from the other entrants, the reason for this is because they will be given the opportunity to guess from the words made up what names were chosen at the beginning of the name game.

Feeding Time is another particular favourite, this is game where cotton balls are placed into a basin with another empty basin at the side, Blind fold the players for this game who will then be prompted to transfer the cotton balls from one basin to the other with the aid of a spoon. Put a time limit on this game because this game is not as easy as it looks. The winner is the one with the most cotton balls moved.

Another unusual named game is the Rice Bowl but very popular at baby shower occasions. Take a bowl fill it half-way with plain uncooked rice. Into the rice throw in safety pins (be careful with safety pins). Blind folded once again the guests task is to take turns in retrieving the pins.

Guess the Guest is a real fun game where guests are asked to bring a picture along of when they were a baby, On entrance to the baby shower celebration these photos will be handed to who ever is in charge of the entertainment scene. Participants in this game join in the fun by identifying the picture and putting the right face to the right person.

Baby Shower Games highlight the whole of the occasion adding fun and laughter. Most games entail being blind folded. A word of warning, to many of these baby shower games then you don't get to see as much of the baby shower as you would like.
